Ron Baune built a greenhouse for plant starts that he and his wife Joan began selling at a nearby farmers’ market. When that garden reached eight acres, they decided to hit the big time with a space at the much larger Portland Farmers’ Market.
While their plant starts were a big hit, they realized that city people didn’t have the larger parcels of land that were common in the suburbs. This “aha!” moment led Joan to the realization that potted vegetables would be a great value-added addition to their product mix, and Rainyway Farm Salad Bowls were born.

Great idea! Love it!
I really like the idea but even after the two weeks would you not use up all the lettuce just to make one or two salads? I guess you could have multiple bowls to avoid this.
Great idea. My only problem is the cost, I think anyone can make an equivalent for much less.
Never mind I didn't watch all of the video. Lol😆
I wonder how large this bowl is? How deep is it?
Where do you buy the empty bowls. I looked online but could not find anything for less than $20.00 per empty bowl.
Love this, it's pretty and can last the whole summer if you pick and not cut the leaves.
Did anyone ever find a source for these? I don’t mind buying in bulk. Thank you.
Where did you get the bowls?
you said tomatoes- there is enough room in that pot for a tomato plant?
This is so innovative and GREAT!
