  1. Great tip about the vermiculite, Ray. I'm just getting started for the upcoming season in Toronto Canada.

  2. Good morning Ray, as a fellow gardener I wanted to share a few tips with you. I’m a Texas Master Gardener that is always learning new ways to garden more effectively. I heard you mention to use seed starter mix. You can also use potting mix without the fertilizer included. It will work too. And you can make your own mix by using 50 percent vermiculite or perlite with 50 percent fine sphagnum peat moss, and half the dose of gypsum. (Gypsum is a mild starter fertilizer). I suggest to view some great seed starting and other helpful YouTube gardening videos such as Susan in the garden (she’s my favorite for seed starting tips), Baker Creek (seed starter video discusses using gypsum), The Rusted Garden, and of course Laura from Garden answer. Good luck! Happy Gardening!

And for your information, I have made one YouTube video. I hope to make more in the future. I’m a little camera shy. I’m still learning. You can find it under the Texas Happy Gardener. Again, I hope to have more in the future. Happy Gardening! 😊💐🦋

  3. So I just ordered this kit after watching your video. Being self watering and the space between the seeds and the bottom of the tray will the heat mat do anything since it’s not actually sitting on the mat?
