Warm October in the PNW: Birthday Knitting for Matt + Still Harvesting & Preserving the Garden

IN THIS HOMESTEAD VLOG:
-We’ve had an unseasonably warm and dry October so far, so I’m still harvesting and preserving the garden.
-I decided to rip back the sweater project I started a couple episodes ago, and I have casted on for something new.
-We have new additions to our herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats! Plus big plans for our herd next year.

  1. Good morning😊. I love your episodes… especially seeing the girls with the goat. It looks like your preserving will fill your cupboards😊

  2. Good Morning! Luv your videos as always. My only request would be can you increase the font size on the subtitles? I watch on my phone and the subtitles are just too small to read. Old age sucks! LOL

  3. Another lovely video, always great to see what you've been up to. Do you know what variety of grapes you have? I have a concord variety, Beta, and I am thinking about adding a lighter colored grape to my homestead. Thanks for all you share! Happy Fall!🍁♥

  4. I am sort of over it too. The tomato plants I started from seed (fiaschetto di manduria) produce small plum tomatoes. I put them in on July 8th. They have almost completely produced and are done for. I keep roasting them and packing them into 8 ounce jars which works for us seniors. I need to freeze all my peppers and the freezers are full. Your video reminded me of making the cowboy jalapeños. I think I grew the biggest jalapeños this year than I ever have. On one plant they have totally turned red. Even the Jimmy Nardellos I planted in July have produced and are delicious in a chicken vegetable soup. It seems to me it should be time for a fire and knitting rather than preserving. The rain is coming here on Friday. As usual, love watching your videos and Instagram stories. Looks like an amazing harvest for you and lots and lots of preserving. It will all taste good this La Niña winter.

  5. 😁. Especially love the editing in this episode- sorry, technical difficulties! Re: knitting – you get to handle that gorgeous yarn again, I’ve realized while I love my finished projects it’s really 5he knitting I love. ❤️

  6. ❤Beautiful. Video therapy, as always!❤ Loved your editing of the “date” with Thomas.😂 Really gave me a chuckle!🤣

  7. Love this episode, I was sorry when it was over… What were you doing with the grapes?

  8. Too funny! I was thinking those goats were looking at you like “turn that camera off!” Lol. Great editing. Your garden is amazing! Those grapes did look tasty.
