Amy and Jerry wanted a new look in their front yard garden. We did a complete transformation of the front yard landscaping with drip irrigation. For some odd reason builders like to use nothing but hollies in landscaping. Some hollies are beautiful, but these did nothing for curb appeal. So out with the old and hello to the new shrubs. After consulting with Amy and Jerry, we took a drive to Creekside Nursery in Dallas NC. Creekside is only approximately 40 min from our houses. We choose some awesome Proven Winners plants and displayed them in a manner that the plants would look in her front yard landscape. A complete plant description is displayed in the video. Most of the hollies were re-homed and new plants in there place. In the back of the landscape we have Sprinter Boxwoods that will make a tight hedge along the house. These plants will stay small from two feet to four feet. They can be pruned back to stay at two feet so they will not hide their window in the front. I suggested that a iron window box would look lovely under the one and only window in this garden. In the front row we have rose shrubs (Reminiscent Crema Rose) in the front and centered under the window. Flanking on each side of those we have Double Play Doozie Spirea and Southern Living Purple Daydream Dwarf Loropetalum. On the corner of the house we placed a Proven Winners Center Stage Pink Crapemyrtle. On the other corner of the house we placed a Proven Winner Bloomerang Dark Purple reblooming Lilac.
We used the Power Planter Auger to plant all of these shrubs. See link below. I have the Easy Dig Kit.
We used Biotone and Land & Sea Compost to plant.
All of these gorgeous plants will look lovely when they get some growth on them. After planting I installed drip irrigation to all of the plants so they will be well watered and happy in the growing season. We area a Zone 8. Also look at my previous video for drip.
