Early Summer Flower Garden Tour June 2021 ๐Ÿก Front Yard Landscaping ๐ŸŒณ Shade Garden Ideas

Hey babies! Thank you so much for watching and for stopping by my tiny corner of YouTube. In this video I’m sharing a summer flower garden tour! This will be a vlog style tour of my front yard landscaping and early summer flowers of June. I am still a newbie when it comes to plants and gardening, but I am always trying to learn more and grow my skillset – constructive comments / advice / feedback are always welcomed! I have done tons of work on my front yard landscaping since I have moved into this house, but it is a pretty big yard and I still have quite a few projects to conquer before it gets where I’d like it to be. My entire yard, except for out by the mailbox, is part sun to full shade, so my planting options are pretty limited. I have been experimenting with a mix of both annuals and perennials around my yard and trying to fine the right combination of things that can thrive and look appealing. You will see lots of hydrangeas, hostas, and boxwoods in my garden tour.

  1. Hey Annie! Your flowers are beautiful! I love hydrangeas, too. I was just at my daughter's house yesterday admiring her 3 new ones, but they were white! She said her soil did that and they have to put a lot of lime down now. She had bought pink!
Also, those weird things you couldn't identify are Irises. Easy to grow. The reason I know is because they are the Tennessee state flower and that's where I'm from! They get beautiful with different colors.

  2. Great update – thanks for showing the progress on all your plantings. You mentioned maybe widening the columns on your porch but would you consider a railing across the front..? I think that would look pretty (in white). I like the idea of painting your brick white but also like the current brick color as well.

  3. Donโ€™t prune the hydrangeas at the end of the season! I forgot to tell my landscape guys and they cut them at the fall clean up. Only one hydrangea bloomed this year. :(. Itโ€™s still growing but no blooms.

  4. Hi, I like the brick & if you ever move brick has a better resale value than painted brick, just sayin'. Nice landscape you did, good job!

  6. The โ€œweird lookingโ€ plants are iris, they probably need a bit more light to bloom, Yulia at ygarden on YouTube has a great iris replanting video.
    Thanks for the tour ๐Ÿ˜Š

  7. I believe it depends on the Ph of your soil that determines what color your hydrangea blooms are. You can change the color by adding to your soil to change the ph. Looks gorgeous!

  8. Annie, I'm finally getting a chance to watch your last two videos. The garden is looking beautiful! I can absolutely see how much work you did from last year. And so happy your hydrangeas are looking great. I planted like 30 white hydrangea bushes along the back of my yard hoping they will create a hedge and I am so scared that I am going to screw it up LOL. If you are liking the petunias check out the Proven Winners Superbell Lemon Slice ones… I have them in my planters this year and they are SO pretty! I smile every time I look at them.

  9. It looks absolutely beautiful! Your garden is very charming and you really made a shade garden look full of life! My advice would be for investment purposes not to paint the brick. It would look beautiful but your other ideas to add to the house sound really beautiful and will enhance the curb appeal and add value to the property!

  10. Love this video. Exceptionally knowledgeable. Love how you know the names of plants. Hard work is your forte. Porch swing looks inviting. I have never understood how to grow blue or lavender hydrangeas. But I have picked the cream and light green hydrangeas and made beautiful christmas wreath it took many hydrangeas and placed them on an extremely large homemade grapevine wreath. Where did you get your hanging swing. No No dont paint brick. Husband had painting business for over 50 years on expensive home. I say no one painted brick. It provides contrast and texture. I love how you know.the names of your planting. Did you know you can save more money and divide and replant hostas. Also hostas come in deep green to provide contrast in colors. I am so excited to see you plan bulb planting this fall. Please dont swear you are too talented and you could really be successful with this channel. I love your desire to create a beautiful garden. I have loved your channel it is entertaining. You have a cool garden vibe. I suggest purchasing inspirational garden landscape books or check out from library.
