  1. Robbie, still watching and funny that I noticed same thing with two of my totes. Compost was thick and heavy so I removed it to be able to add something to lighten it up. What do you suggest? Do you use perlite? It is very expensive these days.

  2. Beautiful vegetables with no holes at all. Did you use the tulle to protect them? So much fun to watch you work your magic. You are so fast that it seems like you have eight hands like Inspector Gadget. Hope to see the lettuce video soon. Almost a year and have not had a single lettuce grow. Now inspired to refresh and restart. Thank you so much Radiant Robbie!

  3. Love the compost in place idea! I have been doing that in my containers and it works great! Also, I save money since I don't have to buy so much soil! Thanks so much Robbie!!

  4. Aw your doggie is so cute 😍 and lovely birdies❣
I use spoons as well, and use leaves and put pots in other pots too πŸ˜„ πŸŒ»πŸ€

  5. I dont understand why you would want to disturb the roots. I always thought you had to be careful not to disturb the roots.

  6. Hi Robbie or Gary, Please do a video of how you guys cook and eat your collards. We have tons in the yard but have not been eaten because the kid don't like the texture. I tried pressure cooked them and they are softer but the taste is not as sweet. When it is sweet, the aphids are all over them… TIA.

  7. I always have a fork (mini rake) around. I get these things for 10p at the thrift shop. Thanks for the great tips, as always, Robbie!

  8. I have been composting in those black pots plants come in. I add kitchen scraps, little pieces of cardboard or paper, some potting mix and a little granular fertilizer, wet it and I make a "lid" for the pot by cutting a piece of cardboard to fit so it doesn't dry out. Then I put the pot out into the Florida sun and stir it all up every few days and keep it damp. I can't believe how fast it all breaks down.

  9. I love the spoon idea. Thank you for sharing how you refresh your pots. Kitty is just so adorable! Love to see her ask for her broccoli. Have a wonderful weekend Robbie and Gary.

  10. I am a new subscriber and new to gardening. I wish I would have found you sooner. Thanks for showing how you do your gardening. It's very helpful!

  11. Thank you Robbie and Gary! Your videos are so uplifting and helpful. This year is my first time growing a garden in a very long time. You have such good ideas. I love to see your dog in the videos as well! Do you have two dogs the same kind? I don’t want to miss any of your videos!😍

  12. I Love your videos, and would ask you how I can control the fruit flies in my composter pots,
I have watched so many of your videos and learnt so much from you, its amazing, thank you from sunny South Africa.

  13. Yesterday i bought 10 totes ! Can't wait till spring. Snow's coming soon. And Gary solved my pond problem. ThanXXXX you're terrific !!! πŸ‘πŸ‘ŒπŸ’–πŸ€—πŸ’šπŸ˜Š

  14. I've been putting paper towels in the bottom of pots to keep the soil in, but I think the old leaves will work just as well & add a little more "nutrition." Also, I used a plastic fork from a carryout dinner to do some transplanting. It won't last as long as the metal ones, but it was free. Dollar Tree has utensils, too.

  15. We don't get snow either but do get a couple freezes and frosts. Would lettuce, kale, etc., survive a frost ?

  16. I have several containers of various sizes, and a stack of empty containers I have yet to use. I am guilty of thinking that I have to set up new containers to plant more seeds. This thought discourages me from going out and doing it, as I think, "I have to cut those containers down, (I use plastic milk jugs and large cat litter containers), fill them, plant the seeds, water them, and find a place for them where the squirrels won't eat the seedlings." So I have a pile of seed packets that are not getting planted. But the containers I have already planted have space and some can be used again if nothing came up from when I first planted it. We need to understand that once a planter is planted, as you demonstrated, the soil can be used time and again, and other soils can be mixed in, along with new leaves. You do all of it so well, and your methods are priceless in encouraging others to grow and plant without killing themselves bending over and kneeling (my kneeling days are pretty well gone). Having fun with planters and plants is the key you teach, and it puts manageability back into gardening.

  17. Robbie I Dk all the greens but want too. Can u say what is it when u touch them? I have greens growing and Dk what is it. Thank you.

  18. What a great idea on how to refresh and replant a pot, you are so full of great ideas that really work, it fascinates me to see you doing it, thanks again!! I am in my 80's and only now learning how to grow veggies and am so happy about it too!

  19. I use chopsticks for everything in the garden. You can stab the bags of poo or potting mix, then rip them open; transplant little seedlings; hand pollinate; stake a small potted tomato.

When I was a little girl, I would go a visit my elderly Chinese neighbour and that's what she did…so when I started gardening I did it too!

Best of all, they are free. You can pick them (bamboo ones) from sushi places, takeouts, restaurants etc etc

  20. That is so cool to use a teaspoon, to dig with, I just love it and your cute little dog, can I ask what you do with your leaves that have powdery mildew, do you put them in your compost or destroy them? Thanks again for all your great advice!!

  21. I use silverware as well lol. What is the turquoise laddel thingies called?? u are using for soil???

  22. I dug up a whole flowerbed (about 15 feet) with a spoon one time and had the most beautiful petunia bed. My neighbors just loved it and so did I πŸ₯°

  23. G'day Robbie ,LV your chanel πŸ‡πŸ‡²πŸ‡πŸ‡²πŸ‡πŸ‡²πŸŒπŸ™πŸ€—πŸ’ŸπŸ’ŸπŸ’ŸπŸ’Ÿ
