Permaculture & Garden Design Lecture

This month our family was given the opportunity to run a Permaculture lecture with the Waverley Garden Club.

In this video we will investigate the changing approaches to backyard gardening. The journey from being an organic gardener to biodynamic gardener. Simple changes to increase fruit and vegetable productivity and minimise our impact on the environment. A brief history of synthetic fertilisers and pesticides will also be included.

We will provide tips and strategies for designing a permaculture garden with an emphasis on biodiversity, soil health and minimal inputs. This will include teaching you how to make possibly the most effective non-lethal possum deterrent on the planet! Free samples will be provided!

We will look at easy ways to get into espalier gardening and cost effective measures and cheats to produce lots of food in a small space.

Lastly, we will and explore the role of chickens, quails, ducks and bees within an urban setting. We will have lots of hands on experiences to help motivate people to try adding a feathered friend or even a beautiful beehive to their backyard.
