Grow Vegetables in Containers | Container Garden Tour | July

Zone 6 (Chicago, IL, USA)
Hey there! In this video I do a container garden tour for July! In addition to my raised bed garden beds, I am growing food in containers in my front yard and backyard garden. We’re mid-way through the summer growing season and some plants are thriving and others are struggling. I share the good, the bad and the great!
Thanks for watching!

  1. Batavia Thanks for the morning tour – what a beautiful space! I do hope your potatoes produce – let’s keep fingers and toes crossed 👩🏾‍🌾🤞🏾😊

  2. Simply beautiful! You might have to remove some of the troubled plants in order to not spread disease and pests if they are truly infected/infested. Thank you for always sharing! ✨💖✨💖✨

  3. This has got to be shared for those communities that are food deserts .with no access to fresh veggies.

  4. Hello I have been growing in container for about 8 years and i always amend my old soil some tomato and pepper varieties just get blossom end easier than others but using a tomato fertiizer like epsoma granular tomato tone helps and amending your soil at the end of the year with garden lime gives the lime time to break down it does take awhile using a fast release calcium is helpful also like gypsum or calcium nitrate is also fast acting I hope this was of some help to you and good luck

  5. tried something for the borers. soaking hot pepper/onion and garlic scraps in water and pour it on the stems– it seemed to work, but i tried it after the attack. i plan to use it as soon as the plant seems strong enough next year.

  6. I don't know if you know this or not but the Blossom inrot you can use milk it will put the calcium back in the container
