Once the battery dies, no longer the ability to charge how much will it cost to replace and how to dispose
I just can’t get my head around this. I understand that the technology will advance, but here’s where we’re at:
-Expensive as hell
-12 hour charge time won’t cut it
-These batteries aren’t designed to last 15+ years like gas engines are. For that price point, that mower better keep its batteries juice for over a decade. Every year these batteries lose charge.
Brian, thanks for the videos from the Expo! I'm interested to see if anyone besides Cub Cadet is working on 4 wheel steering for zero turn mowers. Especially if they can do it with lap bar control without having to use a steering wheel. The electric zero turns should be more suited to this since they have no mechanical steering linkages to deal with. They could conceivably drive the caster fork turn control with small high torque DC motors that get their signals (how far to turn and in which direction) from the same lapbar control circuit that controls the rear wheels direction of rotation.
Glad to see there’s an option of a 240 for a faster charge time. Summer time means 12 hour work days.

Those Z-Spray machines have lockable front caster wheels. I wonder if Ex-mark has considered bringing that feature to their zero turn mowers? Just the ability to press a foot pedal to temporarily lock the front casters dead straight ahead while driving across a slope would be game changing for zero turn traction.
Awesome to see Exmark getting into the electric mowers! Will the electric option only be on the Lazer Z models next year? I have a lower model right now that I got in 2020. I'm a homeowner so I don't have a ton of hours on it, but would like to switch over to all electric. I would have considered the Ego zero turn if it was available in 2020. But I love my Exmark and don't regret the purchase. You can't beat the cut quality.

I love my exmark lazer z x. Has 175 hours on it. But dang exmark I just paid mine off and you did this? They wanted 10k and mine for a new one they went out the roof.
I see nothing but headaches. I’ll stick with gas.

The turf tracer is going to change the industry. Even if it's $500/ month subscription to run the software, it would be cheaper than having an employee run it that you're paying $20+/ hr. Can't wait to get my hands on one, been a scag guy for years but that adjustment with the deck pitch is probably going to make a switch alot more attractive. Great stuff!

What about when the government tell you not to charge equipment due to blackouts due to poor policies. Brian this is terrible. Now we got woke mowers. The guy just said the runtime is not there. This is bull and a control trap and its expensive and corrosive to the environment when its time to toss the battery and replacement costs. Great mowers that don't need operator. 😑

We would have all electric mowers but 30+ grand for a mower is a no go in our region. That’s what the current brands are wanting for them.
Sorry i'll stick with gas mowers. Come back in twenty years and i'll listen.
