Front Yard Self Watering Vegetable Garden & Fruit Trees

Front Yard Self Watering Vegetable Garden & Fruit Trees
G’Day Folks. Here’s a bit of an update on how the self watering beds are going out the front. Have also moved some fruit trees out the front & gave them a feed to get ready for an early Spring.

Hope you enjoyed the clip & your gardens are booming.
Cheers all,
Rob

  2. Hey Rob great video, I'd like to know what brand the chicken pellets you mixed in with your soil and maybe I can buy it in the US

  3. Hi Rob always enjoy your very informative videos, have some questions hope you can help.
In Nigeria the potting mix and other "store bought" manures are not available at least not anywhere near where I live.
    1. Can I use poultry droppings mix with wood sawdust, cow dung, pig dung and mix with soil to fill the wicking bed as manure?

  4. Hi Rob, great channel 👍 I noticed you mentioning pigeon peas, are they any good? As in eating wise. I am considering using them as a food source. Thank you! Looking forward to future clips.

  5. lts looking great mate. Where did you get the kelp meal from if u don't mind me asking. l would love to incorporate that into my soil

  6. yes thay are self watering barrels and iv made smallones to and i put tomato in them thay sem to like it in them 😁

  7. I wish we had some of your winter weather here in Canada Rob. Our white stuff is snow 🙂 Great look around in the front yard.

I don't think I would be able to use IBC for our winter as I would assume that the cold winter temps would split the plastic, but I can see they would make a great wicking bed. I know I have to dump out my wicking beds for the winter, which is a bit of a pain

    Cheers mate

  10. Hi Rob, I am brand new to the aquaponics scene. Haven't even started a build yet but have been gathering as much info as possible. Your channel is very informative and wide ranging in all things around backyard AP and gardening in general. Can't wait to get into it and see what I can grow. Looking forward to getting the kids involved and sharing the odd video along the way. Thank you for all the videos, keep them coming.

  11. In Texas, the sun cooks gardens this time of year. I wonder if the water in the reserve area of the wicking beds would get too hot to NOT kill the plants. You have to run the water hose a minute EVERY time you water, just to get the scalding water out of the hose, before watering the plants.
