  1. Great Idea Terry, makes perfect sense, especially for those with a limited space for compost bins it gives them options and options are always a good thing to have

  2. Boy would my chickens love to weed your garden, they do a really good job I just have to fence off where I don't want them to go and I wish I could have a water feature again but the raccoons totally trash everything

  3. I do something similar. I take leaves, weeds and grass clippings spread in my garden beds leave all winter. Turn in the spring and plant. Great idea though. Thanks for sharing

  4. So satisfying to see the clean up !!
Genius Idea !! Be interesting to see how much it breaks down over winter.
    Comfreys still going strong !!
    We'll check out Bernie's video.
    Cheers J&C ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ

  5. How apt your vine weevil vid was the other day! I turned out all 20 pots of my strawberry plants to check them & 50% contained the little beggers, I washed them like you did & replanted them in fresh compost. It's a never ending battle eh!

  6. Hi Terry, we have a "toxic bed" made out of two pallett collars + sits on soil. We dump all our weeds in there and it's covered with some thick weed suppressant & water it weekly. Within 3 months it has rotted down into lovely compost.I learnt this from doing a local basic composting course tutor. Your Christmas potatoes are looking good, there is still lots to do at this time of Year. Thanks for sharing and take care ๐Ÿ˜Š

  7. Hi Terry. Yes, I know about neglecting the garden for other priorities, but sure does pile up. You are so right about learning from others, and giving credit, when it's due, even when we add our own spin to it. I can't wait for the harvesting of the Christmas potatoes. Yes, I collect a couple of rain barrel waters but always have mosquito issues. Take care.

  8. That's great idea a moveable compost bin, makes sense. I've done a similar thing but on a smaller scale as my compost bin is full and waiting for it to finish off now. I'm going to get a second bin soon

  9. All looking great Terry,, a bit of weeding every time youโ€™re down on the plot will stop them taking hold ,, itโ€™s right~ gardening never stops and us gardeners are always looking ahead,, collecting the leaves now and making compost piles will ensure the fertility of our soil in years to come ,, best wishes,, Lisa

  10. Hey Terry, what a fabulous idea, well done Bernie for sharing ๐Ÿ‘
You really do amaze me, when you show into depth just how your allotments are put together.
You give me lot's of ideas for my allotment but it's just finding the material to do it, I love the idea of the IBC's under your compost bin, I will have to put my thinking cap on..๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฎ

  11. Ours has lasted almost two years, and I'm just now beginning to see signs of it deteriorating. It's definitely a good fix.

  12. Great idea to use the spare pallet collars. I have been using the dalek bins in the garden and move them each year besides getting compost for the beds it leaves the soil in beautiful condition for the next growing space. Thanks Terry and take care

  13. Awesome idea Mr. Terry. Filled those beds up in no time. Love the wildlife area. Looking forward to seeing your winter grow! Stay safe and have a great week!
