How to Grow & Harvest Red Mountain Spinach (Orach) in Containers

Learn how to grow & harvest Mountain Spinach, also know as Orach (trounced OR-ack) is literally the most Amazing greens. Not only is it beautiful but it is easy to grow in containers. I love the slightly smoky flavor and the softness of the leaves. I use it in salads, tempura, stir-frys, I blanch it to freeze for smoothies.

  1. What part of Florida are you in? Pensacola? I am in Connecticut and are temperatures have been in the 30’s at night but 60’s during the day. You should be warmer.

  2. By far the best test-type video!
I love Nancy's cooking videos, but I enjoy it when you both try things directly from the plant like this!
The honesty shines and nice to hear what things you compare the plant to.
Thanks again for your Middleburg neighbor.

  3. You think they are hearty enough to hold up to boiling? I find Spinich too delicate for more than a quick satuee.

  4. This vegetable is high in potassium and is good for people with high blood pressure.

  5. I really enjoy your videos Hollis & Nancy, thanks for all the effort you put into them 😊

  6. Thank you to share your garden and I really like every time you show us how to plant the vegetables 👍👍👍👍🙏

  7. Where is your wife is from, have you ever tried to grow anything from her home land. Please forgive me if your wife was born American. It’s just that there are so many islands in the Pacific Ocean and they grow so many different plants/trees and many salad greens that we have never heard of. Again please excuse me if I said anything wrong. Always watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸

  8. Have you tried eating the heart shaped sweet potato leaves? They grow great though the heat of summer, and have a very mild taste both raw and cooked. I’ll be growing more next year!

  9. I love trying new veg in the garden!! Brandon (from your comment section) said it right, thanks for all the effort you both put into your videos! Ive been watching since ‘17 and have really learned a TON from both of you!

  10. Always a pleasure watching your video. The plant to harvest is so informative. Love you both and Bing Bing. Have a blessed day always 🙏
