Hey plant babies! Thank you so much for watching. Today we’re back outside doing some backyard landscaping and planting! I hadn’t gotten around to weeding and mulching in my backyard shade flower beds yet, so we are tackling that today. First I’m going into my landscaped beds with my ho and clearing out as many weeds as possible. Then I’m putting mulch down and tidying up the beds. My favorite greenhouse marked down a bunch of shrubs, including hydrangeas, so I couldn’t pass up that deal! My backyard garden area is all mostly shaded, so I stick to part sun / shade shrubs and shade perennials. Hydrangeas are definitely my favorite shade shrub / shade perennial. I planted an oakleaf hydrangea in my backyard flower bed, and then added some new big leaf hydrangeas to my front garden bed, as well as a new boxwood, blacklace elderberry, and a shadowland hosta. After mulching, weeding, and planting my new perennials, I give you guys a little backyard landscape tour, as well as give you a look at the new hydrangeas up front!

I think you’re right that your butterfly bush might be a bit dry; although depending upon where you live, it might not be ready to bloom in color yet? I’m in northern VA and the flowers on mine only turned pink and purple this past month. I’m only guessing though as I know very little about plants. I do love all the hydrangeas you’re planting. <3
