Japanese Garden

Hakusasonso – Traditional Japanese Garden in Kyoto

Welcome to one of my favorite places on earth.
Another place off the beaten tracks so conveniently located right by the Ginkakuji (Silver Pavilion) that is so well know.

I cannot believe that this place is still unknown to travelers. It offers some of the best Japanese food in an traditional house and has a stunning garden that is worth the 1.200 admission fee if you don’t eat there. The admission fee will also enable you to visit the museum of the artist who used to live there, Mr Kansetsu Hashimoto. He designed this garden and its completion took over 32 years.

The whole place is still owned by the Hashimoto family whom I have the great pleasure of knowing 🙂

Enjoy this beautiful and authentic Japanese garden!

  1. That is a wonderful place. I really liked your pace of presentation. I also watched your stroll along the Philosopher's path. These are probably your best videos yet.

  2. They say the artist brought the stones from Kyushu, so thats maybe where he got the sea shells from. ☺
