  1. In San Antonio I havenโ€™t found Turkeys yet at WM .. and Costco had high dollar frozen Turkeys $49 ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  2. all grocery stores have cut back on there aisles/selve space.. forget about eating turkey for Thanksgiving. eat a ham or roast

  3. Our nearest Costco is about 90 miles away. Like you, we rarely go there. However, we purchase a lot from Costco online. It gets shipped quickly (usually) and right to our door. We buy enough that no shipping costs. The only other big box store near ( 20 miles ish) is Walmart. There are no Aldies in our neck of the woods. Just Safeway and Grocery Outlet. Our gasoline is running $4.98 ish at our cheapest stations. Our nearest Sam's Club is a 9 hour drive one-way. But again we shop online. Our pantry is pretty full. Our freezers are almost bulging, so we can last for a long long while if things go clear south. Actually we shop more at Chef USA … more convenient for sure.

  4. I live in Oregon on the coast, our gas prices just went down to $5.49 a gallon and that's at Fred Meyers gas station, other places are a few cents more

  5. My niece works for Costco. In a recent meeting they were told that they have been running in the red all summer and so the price increases were necessary to keep them in business. It's a bummer all the way around.

  6. Haha, Saturday I made the same coffee choice at Costco! I rather doubt I renew my membership though. I think their product choices are rather sparse. Maybe I'll try sams club next year. Or maybe neither. Just shop regular store's sales more carefully.

  7. A couple of major things keep us at Costco; my husbandโ€™s hearing aids and after eye exams, his glasses are purchased at Costco. If not for that, we would be giving serious consideration whether to continue our membership.

  8. The closest Cosco to me is an hour and a half away and there is nothing else in the area I need to go to. Even Aldi has to be planned out with other stores in the area. That Basmati rice is a dollar more at Walmart and if I order over $35 online they bring it to me for free. I have heard Costco will ship items with your membership, so maybe that is something to look at.

  9. The Giorgio mushrooms used to be under $10 a case at our Costco, but they haven't been available in over a year. I've been getting 4.5 ounce jars at Grocery Outlet for about $1.50 each. For backup I dried fresh mushrooms & stored them in vacuum sealed jars.

  10. we have a sams club membership and like you we go every few months, its a 45 minute drive. I have certain items I buy but many items aren't any cheaper if you compare them to aldi or off brand prices.

  11. I've debated getting a Costco or Sam's membership for years, but couldn't justify the cost. Like Patara mentioned its a 45 minute drive for us as well. When I'm in that area I tend to be handling appointments & have other stores higher on my list.

I personal think Costco & Sam's will continue to do well as folk think its a better value. Many won't bother running the numbers.

  12. Hey UK! NC here in USA!!! where our leadership tells so many "stories"( haha),so often he doesn't know his ethnicity, where he graduated college & where he stood in his class rank (1st vs. 4th from last), what town he spent his childhood yrs,(in NJ./Delaware, when he had cancer, and especially when/where he was a professor !…know what we mean? And true/false…."used" for his political control…FBI?, IRS,? MILITARY?, PISSLOSI?, Cheney& other RINOS?, don't remember where he really is!

  13. I wonโ€™t be renewing my membership. Driving over an hour to get to the Sudbury Costco. Taking times for sales elsewhere. The only thing you can now count on at Costco is better gas prices.

  14. Patara, you saw the same thing I did at our COSTCO in Superior Colorado a couple weeks ago. I couldn't believe how many clothes there were.

  15. Hang on to the minimal membership.. Costco may have things in the future, that local doesnโ€™t have .

  16. Wow, your gas prices are enviable! $3.19 a gallon?!!! Wow, we're a dollar more here. $4.29 most places, if you keep your eyes peeled maybe $4.19. I got mine for $3.99 today and celebrated!

  17. Same here in Southern California. More close, prices going up. Usually the asterisk โœณ means discontinued. Check with an associate to make sure. Our canned meat section has steadily declined. I find the third week of the month some prices go down a little. Then back up from the first until week three. Praying to move.

  18. I allowed my COST A LOT membership to end. I paid for the $124.00 annual membership coverage. First time in years too….. Dropped my membership way back in 2006.
(I disliked the fact they will not accept Discover Card there.) Nothing lost since I've had to cut way back in my spending due to high inflation. SAMS CLUB will do fine.

  19. Costco is 10 miles from both my summer and winter locations, I save a fortune on gas, grocery and tires. And I split the membership with a family member, been a member since 1989. I will not be canceling any time soon. But, their credit card partner CitiBank canceled my credit card without warning and without me ever missing a payment so that did take one of the biggest benefits away, so I understand people who cancel. Today it still has value to me, tomorrow?

  20. If you cancel your membership prior to it's renewal date they will refund the current year to you.

  21. We also live an hour away from our Costco, but we live an hour to an hour and a half away from most decent sized stores. Our grocery options are very limited and rather pricey. Costco is still a good option after paying the membership. The only thing that beats it is the new Hโ€‘Eโ€‘Bโ€ฆ.if you really utilize their coupons and deals. That means your better priced items are not always a better price there. Aldi is wonderful, and we love shopping there. But, the closest one to us is over 150 miles away. You donโ€™t just drop by to pick up a few things. Lol All this to say, it does benefit us to keep our Costco membership. Everyone should check their prices and do what is best for them!๐Ÿ™‚
