  2. I think this is a huge lesson for beginners, good info! At our age we have to use a rototiller lol but I love to garden. Stop by our channel and take a look at ours if you want.

  3. I agree that using hand tools is a great way to garden. The only way for me. I use shovel, rake, hoe and a garden fork (not quite a pitch fork as I think you use, Nicole). Some of my beds are "double-dug" and I use the garden fork to go down another several inches for good drainage. I really enjoy the peace and quiet when working this way. And who needs a membership to a fitness center when you're doing physical work? It's great exercise. I'm over 70 and this is one way I keep in shape. Nicole, I invite you to come visit my garden.
