Once again why no AC cab for the John Deere 2 series??? If you can make it work on these zero turns then make it for the 2 series.
Not for small yards but for big fields and houses in 100 ° heat with 98 % humidity yes sir!!! Keep you from dropping your performance from exhaustion.
I wish they had heat and r they bagger compatible and I wonder if they r able to put them on some of the gas Deere models later down the road
Great idea for some, most people use them around low trees and shrubs so it wouldn’t work unless mowing big open areas, with opening I could see the dirt and grass getting inside, my neck freezing while my feet are sweating
I recently got the Kubota zd1211 with the cab enclosure, I've had a chance to use it once so far, and I REALLY USED IT, 4 acre lot, with vegetation in some areas 4-5 feet tall. Didn't cool very well in vegetation that tall, but once I got it knocked down, I was comfortable, and not getting all of the excess grass and dust was a plus. I'll keep you posted. DeSoto Texas
How about the homeowners who have heat stroke or excessive amount of Heat Exhaustion. This makes them more likely to get heat stroke. I have been looking at a 3R tractor just to get a Air conditioned cab.
Now that would be amazing to try!
These Deluxe-New-Fangled " Mover-Sycles" are an Extream case of. making A" chore into a job". My two acre yard NEEDS to be converted to an ONE acre Hay field for better use of the land. My 25 year old 500$ Wheelhorse cuts it flawlessly in one hour and with just using 1.25 gallons of fuel only. Grass cutting is the EASIEST thing l do around the property & if somebody wants to do it for me they have to PAY ME 40$. Maybe these "Far-Out" machines can be "justified" in RARE Circumstances, but they are GREAT for the salesmen & Manufacturers.
Like you said it would probably be good for someone with a landscape business and someone just had money to burn i dont think the normal homeowner would buy it I could think of something else I could buy for 13 grand lol

Probably mostly going to be municipalities that will use those I think. Pretty darn cool though!!
1.5 ton is 18000 btu. That is as big as my 32 ft rv has. Sounds like overkill but with all that glass and very little insulation, probably just enough.
To use, We run almost all John Deere Mowers & Tractors. We live in Central PA, Very hilly, the John Deere Z994 at 25 HP does not have enough HP to run the mower deck & pull a hill. So not sure how much power an A/C Compress will take away.
At that price I’ll put a window unit or a mini split on that and save 12,500.
A homeowner that can buy that cab is probably likely to just hire out the yard work. That price is very restrictive to who the end user will be.
I think that’s going little overboard for a riding mower I think $13,000 a lot of money for a air conditioner for a mower that you’re going to be on maybe an hour at the most come on people

TTWT, I could see this product being a good seller targeted at golf course units or municipals. We put mega hours on a zero turn. We demand a heavier duty than commercial zero turns like the 994 JD or 1211 Kubota. Having a cab for protection for employees from the sun, dust, heat, and items being possibly thrown makes sense.

I do see how this can be good in the dog days of summer and the frigidness of winter. However, I'd like to see them develop this for Grasshopper's front mount ZTR.
Expensive but I would consider it. Keep in mind for the Ferris there are also Kawasaki powered 3000 series machines not just Vanguard.
Price is insane! I would have guessed half that price!! 6 or 7 grand is expensive enough I thought but WOW!!! $13000.00 so the cab cost upwards of 60ish pulse percent of the cost of the zero turn itself?!?!
Just a thought, especially with today's food prices. If you have so much grass that you need to have a climate controlled cab, it might be better to plant something you can eat. You have too much grass. 😁

I bet you ready have to kept the condenser cleaned as well as the radiator do they have some kind of filter for the condenser as well as the cabin ?
That's a "cool" option, great for a mowing business or a homeowner with a large lawn.

To answer the question about "would I buy one?"… No sir. The cab height would be an issue, but the price is too high for me as a homeowner. Would I use one if giving one to try free of charge? Absolutely! But it's simply not practical for us at this time.

For me , we have a JD 930M 54" deck, with 13 bushel dump from the seat material collection system, think I would have to trim all my trees and bushes, think the scratch resistance windows and doors after a few mowings would show lots of wear and tear.
My ZD1211 doesn’t need anything else that will bog the engine down… would be great… with a more powerful engine.
Just wait until you grab the low hanging branch to the top of that cab. Ooofff! That would be an expensive hazard

I’m predicting in the future manufacturers will build 0 turns fitted with OEM cabs.
$13 grand to improve the working environment of the operator will be a choice many buyers will approve!
nice to have but i guarantee employees will destroy it. I sometimes scratch my head trying to figure out how they break mowers built like a tank.
One thing I didn't hear you mention is hp loss with AC. Curious to see how much power is left to go fast in tall wet grass. The other plus you didn't mention is for people who like to mow their own but can't because of allergies. Bet that is a selling point too. With the price tag you mentioned, your getting into price range of tractor with belly mower and factory cab that has many more uses than a zero turn
Have a heater in it also & change out the deck over to a snow thrower or sweeper that will make me purchase.
it would be nice but 13,000 for cab no way company are just pricing equipment you can't tell me there is more than 1000 dollars in material to build it engineering and profit 12,000 a cab is !!!!!!!!!!
I make a couple dollars, NEVER would I spend 13k on one of these.
Lawn care, $150-200 a month, 8-9 months a year mowing…. you're at close to a decade on the zero turn and another 8 years on the cab.
I'd pay a company to cut before hacking up the bank account.
