    A few handsful of decorative pebbles would cover the exposed ends of the balcony if they bother you, but everything looks very pretty and comfortable now.

    I thought WOW lucky those chairs are small enough to fit. But then I also thought everything is smaller in Japan anyway 🤣

    If you paint the walls lime green..yellow or white and put up a few wall plant pots or pictures!! Where there's space you could fill it in with vulcanic rock!! You did s great job!!!

    So you need to invite someone who weighs a bit more than you do and then could walk over the flooring to make sure it's all snapped together!!

    I like the high wall, and I don't. I like the privacy fell, but I don't like how there is no view unless you stand on something

    Take one chair away as most time your alone so no need for 2 . Then your plant stand will fit.

    Nice! You should definitely incorporate lights of some sort. Perhaps, a lantern with battery-operated lights. Do you have the link to the balcony chairs?

    Re do the flooring layout and position all in center then You can border with rocks it adds a nice natural outdoor space. You don't have to cut them. The cat will love to lay on the rock. I so admire your adventurism moving to Japan. Take care :*))

    This is something I'd love to do but wasn't it kind of a pain when it came time to dry laundry? That's my main concern with redoing my balcony…the fact that I need the space still for clothes and setting it up and dismantling things every time I do laundry sounds a bit daunting.
