Pretty Cactus Container Garden

Pretty Cactus Container Garden
Recreate a desert landscape by using a pretty ceramic container and a variety of blooming cacti such as the popular Gymnocalycium mihanovichii “Moon Cactus” and Echinocereus pectinatus “Pink Lace Cactus.”

Materials:
Cactus and Succulent Mix that allows for good drainage and no peat moss (it is too acidic and retains too much moisture).
Any container of your choice (drainage hole is preferable to prevent root rot).
Garden gloves
Tongs or newspaper to handle cacti while planting.
Top dressing of your choice

Care
Place your beautiful cactus container garden in partial sun and water about once a week. Ideally, we would like the plants to receive partial sun to protect it from burning. However, you may put the cactus garden in direct sun provided that you water more often. Plants in direct sun will become more intense in color and turn reddish-brown.

After about 1 to 2 years, you should consider transplanting the cacti into a larger container and use the same method/care to take care of your plants.
