   friday 10-28-2022 went to krogers…went straight to the clearance aisle and grabbed all the damaged or taped up paper goods. i needed wax paper (cut-rite) and there was none on the shelf…the stocker was there and said only parchment paper and showed me the small gap. then i had a craving for quiche—no luck their either. one dozen eggs (kroger cheapee) $4.19 …thankfully it is soup season!!

    Need to get more food!! Me thinks the prices are about to increase yet again…..Ouch!! On a good note, I've been cleaning my "lean-in" closet to return it to a walk-in closet for the winter while I pull out the winter wear and pass on some clothing to the local thrift.

    Im so relieved!
    I re organized our storage the last 2 days! It took me all together 11 hours!!
    I figured a clean slate will do the trick, so first I had to get everything off the shelves, wipe em clean, that was the biggest job!
    Today I put everything back on the shelves and also wrote the list what I have, gosh was I surprised
    We are a family of 8!
    We could make it without going out for at least 30 months!!!
    So I thought of starting a second storage more hidden than the first and add for another 12 months
    Thank you Tommy for keeping me on my toes!!

    BTW- I've thought before about a tent for the den in the mtn house. However, last wknd, we finally put in the woodstove we bought last yr. It won't heat the whole house, but if it gets too cold, we could close off all the rooms. Only issue is there's a fan built-in that requires electricty, so if that goes out, we'll have to keep the door open. Maybe a 2nd, smaller generator would work? The powerlines on the mtn are aboveground, & look like a giant cat strung 'em up like yarn! So, we expect occasional outages.
    The previous owners had a woodstove you can cook on in the basement, so we bought a new one, & still need to install it. My other ½ got the stoves, ½ barrel greenhouse, percolator, cast iron skillets & Dutch oven, generator, & more. Like your husband, he's fully on board & has been getting the big things while I take care of the food & canning. I know of many women whose husbands aren't helping, & I pray that they will! We are blessed, as are all women who have help getting all the things needed! I pray more spouses are waking up!!
    I know y'all want a new wood stove, & I don't know today's prices. We got ours when the gettin' was good. I pray y'all can find one!
    God will make sure the right one comes along for y'all:) Take care, & stay warm!

    The price of food water drinks will continue their upward spiral. We've seen nothing yet. 2023 food prices will be horrible horrific extremely high. Famine, starvation coming to USA TITANIC! USA TITANIC sinking slowly but surely now and will sink faster soon next year.

    As to powder I have put aside 12./ 1 gallon jugs of it . And as many dish soap , and dish washer soap . Hand soap Irish spring 100 bars . Shampoo 30 them on sale . 6 years ago . Get eye droppers to measure bleach for water purification . As to sterno get the jell type it don't spill when tipped over. . Check out then single butane cook burner units . They are a great back up and great for camp cooking . Caution on butane cans they rust eazy so don't store in a uncontrolled environment. Like a garage or attic . My friend lost 20 cans that way . propane coolers / 1 lb cans are more durable but cost more . They can be refilled Menards sells the adaptor . You can use a big tank to fill them just learn how on U Tube.

    good thing I watched this now, u talking about gardens reminded me I had to bring Tommy in, my little tomatoe plant I put in a pot that grew up like yours did ha ha
    haven't noticed those emergency food kits, they would be same area as where u showed & I would of noticed & I know none in middle aisles. long time ago they had some in a middle aisle in back near camping area.
    my hubby mentioned those stainless cups u plug in your car or truck.
    ha ha ha ha ha

    Remember the 3 steps of preps!
    1st everything you can eat out of a can
    2nd add water food ( freeze dried)
    3rd need to cook or boil food
    Most important have a 5 day water supply

    If there is a really bad thing like an emp happening, you will need some time to figure out stuff, you won’t have time to think about cooking, and also you want your water supply not just vanish for cooking rice and beans!

    Stay safe, and prepared

    Im trying to hide my 5 lady’s who are very good egg laying hens away from my city which banned chickens , if I have too I’ll bring them in my basement
    Right now I have them running in my backyard and at night in my garage because of all those bears around us. But I feel more frightened from the city than wildlife, how sad is that!?
