Hi everyone, hope you have a good day.
Enjoy our walking tour in Japanese Garden in Hasselt – Belgium on 22 April 2021.
The Japanese Garden in Hasselt (Belgium) is an extension of the Kapermolenpark. With an area of 2.5 hectares, it is the largest Japanese garden in Europe. The garden is a design by Inoue Takuyuki.
The Japanese garden is located between the city center, the Grote Ring (R71), the Kapermolenpark, De Schaverdijn. The National Administrative Center and the Grenslandhallen are located in the vicinity of the garden. The river Demer flows in the north.
The garden is the result of the bonds of friendship that the cities of Itami (Hyogo prefecture, Japan) and Hasselt have maintained since 1985. Hasselt donated a tower carillon to Itami in November 1991, and in Hasselt the Japanese garden is the permanent, symbolic presence. The garden was inaugurated on November 20, 1992
