  1. With the help of some wonderful internet bird sleuths I was able to determine the skill featured in this video is, in fact, a very old house sparrow skull! One of the only birds NOT protected under the Migratory Bird Act!
Thank you to those who pointed out that I may have made a serious mistake!

This taught me a very important lesson! I will be sure to do much more thorough research in the future. I know about needing a permit for owning human remains but I had no idea about needing one for owning non-endangered species remains. Yes, this includes even feathers! I’ve learned a lot this evening.

I won’t be painting on anymore found remains in the near future, just to play it safe. I’m so glad I am part of a community that is able to point out and help me try and correct any mistakes I make. Thank you!

  2. This turned out so beautiful! Very peaceful and enjoyable to watch. Thank you so much for sharing your talents and skills. 🌻

  3. I didn’t think I would care for this video, but once again, you have surprised me-and I believe your creativity, patience and attention to detail are quite impressive. I’m a person with zero patience or attention to minute detail, so I seek to learn from those with skills I do not possess. Thank you, Emily!

  4. Emily, I love your videos❤️ I am currently taking a watercolor class in college to improve my art skills. Watercolor is one of my favorite mediums by far❤ I am majoring in graphic design ❤️

  5. I hope you are doing well and we will be seeing more content from you. You have been missed, but we all know that everyone needs time for themselves and their family! I hope your able to enjoy a balance going forward and finding joy in the creation of art and sharing your art journey through videos here on the “Tube”! So good to see you, be well!

  6. I just found a bird on a walk with my moms dog a week ago. I plan on keeping as much of it as I can once it decays. This would be so cool to do.

  7. You inspired me to start filming my own videos. Thank you for your beautiful work, and your insightful stories.

  8. Omg this is so cute 🥰 I love ur art and I love taxidermy/oddities so this is right up my alley!

  9. As a bird mom and an artist I absolutely love the design on the skull but it also makes me sad when I look at my cockatiel cause I already know it’s gonna be waterworks for DAYS when he passes. That won’t be for another 10+ years hopefully but I’ve been saving his feathers for the last 5 years so I can make art with them!

  10. Wonderful video, as always! If you decide to paint on skulls/bones again (or just want to clean them) I recommend submerging them in hydrogen peroxide. It would save a lot of cleaning time and gets into all those tricky areas

  11. I’m a nail tech and this is so relatable… can’t do coffee before nail art. Also I have a tiny rodent skull I want to paint now!
