Adding structure to the garden, paths, plans and more potatoes.
Catch up time, especially now the weather is being kinder. I just don’t know where the time goes when you are in the garden.

ABOUT US:
We are Jackie and Helen.
We bought a derelict cottage in 2014 and eventually moved to the Republic of Ireland from the UK in 2016.
We had previously lived in social housing so it was a very exciting time for us.
We gradually renovated the cottage and made it home.
We live here in County Mayo with our two donkeys, four dogs, chickens.
We have 1.2 acres to take care of, that’s when we decided we wanted to document life here, so then came Youtube.

So lovely to see you๐
Looks like the weather has turned beautiful there. Iโm also enjoying puttering in my garden, but always manage to get some tasks done every day. Take care Jackie.
Another nice update. Hope Helen is well. Laura
Couch grass, like bind weed, need to have all the roots removed as every piece left behind will start a whole new plant. Rototilling will break up the roots and you'll have lots more of it unfortunately… Could you just cover it for a few years until it dies right back then till it? Or perhaps rototill a little test patch and see if it helps you to sift out the broken pieces?
That stuff is a curse!!! Let us know how you get on with it. It's a big job in any event…
Thanks so much for sharing your garden with us Jackie. It's always a pleasure.
Yes, my tiller won't work! I think it's because I left fuel in it over winter! Nice wood chips paths. Cute chicken!
Hi Jackie ๐always love to see you in your garden/veg plots . You've done so much how's the back holding up!! ๐you could put halters on the girls and let them chew that grass down…. couch grass is it,horrible stuff to get rid of.All the very best ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑโtime now be for getting stuck in on the plot ๐xx
Let the donkeys eat the grass down and then let the chickens scratch all the roots out
Hello Jackie and Helen, looking forward to seeing how you Progress this season and stay safe and healthy.
