Join Fy Nyth on social media – mewe.com/i/fynyth ! If you are new to my channel and Fy Nyth (Welsh for “My Nest”) in general, welcome! I’m Ariel. Along with my husband Clay, our dogs, cats, bees, and some poultry, we live in a tiny house on wheels in the mountains of western Wyoming and are working on setting into our own new little homestead. I’ve been living this lifestyle since 2014 and my wonderful partner has joined me more recently. What will you find if you follow the channel and watch the videos?

Real life here. I try to show the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. What works, and what doesn’t. The parts I love (most of it!), and the things that suck. Not just the showroom version of a tiny house, but everyday life in a tiny house. Not just the romantic idea of “homesteading” or off grid life, but the everyday details of this lifestyle. We split wood for heat, fill the water tank from a gravity fed spring, and attempt to grow as much of our own food as possible between the weather and wildlife here. I hope to help others learn from mistakes and make life just a little easier for anyone else interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle.

We live in a somewhat harsh and cold climate, but enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that we are surrounded by on a daily basis. You’ll also see videos of the nature and wildlife around my home. If you are interested in my photography or purchasing a photo, I’d love if you follow that over at https://mewe.com/join/arielcelestephotography  or ArielCelestePhotography.zenfolio.com!

  1. That’s so awesome you had that much produce from your garden this year. I know I can eat at least 8 servings a day so I can see how you & Clay can go through everything that’s grown. Seeing all the veggies made me hungry😂. Looking forward to seeing next year’s garden. Sending you guys lots of hugs & love ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  2. Congratulations on your huge success and progress for your garden! Very impressive! Very inspiring.

  4. You are an awesome gardener, Ariel! 👍🇨🇦😎🥕🌽🥔🍆🍎🍅🌶🫑🥒🥬🥦🧄🧅🌻

  5. I used to put my garden to bed for the winter with tons of garden compost, natural grass clippings, llama and goat poop. My asparagus beds I've always tried to keep a little more alkaline. I love to see you canning! About the only thing I consistently put up these days is berry jam made with monk fruit, stevia and pectin!

  6. Thank you so much for always making these videos relatable to anyone trying to garden! We just moved into a townhome with a little backyard, and though we don’t have lots of space, I’m excited to put in garden beds and try these tactics! Thank you!

  7. You have such an amiable and considerate attitude towards us, your viewers. I like it so much. Thank you Ariel for your good advice. Each time.

  8. Thank you so much! I didn't know to amend in the fall. I didn't want the nutrients to just wash away over the winter.

  9. Makes me happy to see how quietly pleased you are with your efforts :)) It's always so encouraging and inspiring to see how well you do in growing conditions much more challenging than where I live.

I did have to sigh though – here in North Canterbury, New Zealand it is mid spring and you reminded me that I once again failed to put my non-producing sections of garden to bed last winter. While I am still harvesting leafy greens that I planted late last autumn, my summer garden is a serious mess of weeds and still needs amending before I plant my summer vege.

  10. Thank you for that last minute product warning. Can you spell out the name of the class of chemicals to be watchful against, please? (Not brand products of course, but the chemical name it could be researched under.)

  11. Thanks, as always for the great info. and beautiful video! And, as I have to do many times = I found myself having to rewind to hear what you said, as I was distracted by Burley being all adorably cute!!! Last video it was Velcro doing the same!

  12. Such a good harvest , with only just establishing the garden. I learn from you so much. I have a new home now and the back half of property is going to be garden. Can't wait!

  13. Out of curiosity, is that enough produce to last you two a year without buying from outside? I often wonder how much space I would need to produce all my own fruits and vegetables (not grain and meat etc, I don't have that expertise).
