MILK CRATE CONTAINER GARDEN SMALL SPACE GARDEN ALTERNATIVE, CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY GARDEN ORGANIC SOIL

Hi, my name is Jessica.

I’m challenging myself to plant as many things as possible , use their tools and occasionally compost. In return I’m hoping more people realize it can be affordable, and you can grow your own! On the next episode I’ll show you how I got FREE milk crates to start the growing process. Below you’ll see the steps I’m taking to prep for a spring garden while still planting a few things now. My zone is 9b in California.

Step 1. FREE milk crates to for “raised bed”
Step 2. How to fill the crates
Step 3. Add worms
Step 4. Is it too late to plant ??
Step 5. Planting what flowers are available at our local nursery.

On this channel I hope you find a peaceful place to watch. From gardening too conscious high fashion on an affordable budget and all in between. Occasional Vlogs with my family, though I don’t have a specific day; we’re working on that. Don’t forget to follow us on social media, tag us if you’ve stated the challenge!

Enjoy,
Jess

  1. Wow I’m totally going to try this gardening style. Especially since my home soil is not the best. Thank you for sharing!!

  2. Since my soul is not that great I’m totally going to try this crate method. Thanks for sharing this valuable information.

  3. Great video! Very nice of someone to gift you with compost! That's actually a very thoughtful gift idea lowkey lol

  4. I just got some crates from Dollar General while getting cardboard for my no dig flower beds. Didn't even know they had them out back. I'm going to add to my gardenbeds area. But I have to ask where did you get your boots. They look so comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis and looking for some comfortable garden footwear.

  5. Sis great video however you needed to add some peat moss and vermiculite in that stair manure so that it'll be texture that will allow drainage from the crates you don't want your soul to clump up so you needed to add something that's going to cause the water to drain and not just settle Plus vegetation doesn't grow that well in direct steer manure

  6. Let me start by saying you're beautiful and I been growing for 3 years now with milk crates and Walmart reusable bags. First year worm composting and now after watching your video i will try your method this year. Thank you. You are a true inspiration keep GOING & GROWING

  7. You could put straw in the bottem and up the sides before filling with soil to keep the soil from going out the sides when it rains,or you could use cardboard too

  8. Also if you have a problem with cats using your garden as a litter box I put plastic forks all around the bed times up to discourage
My cat from going in there

  9. Where can you get milk crates? They never sell them in my area or country

  10. Can you place your landscape fabric all around the outside of the milk crate and still get positive results?
