Hi Sean. Looks amazing. I work for a builders merchant. I wouldn’t use sand under I would suggest limestone dust or 14m to dust it will help with drainage massively!

I don't know if you read the comments or not but there's a product out on the market called sitkins it's the best thing that you'll ever come across use that on that shit there behind you and it'll look like Furniture polished it's got lots of lintseed oil in it

Your plans for the garden are great but bit concerned on your construction of the deck.
For your artificial grass, look at clearing out the area level up use some type 1 aggregate then sand and a water permeable fabric membrane then your artificial grass. Also avoid B&Q for most materials go to a local builders merchant you will save a good bit too.
looking good! hope you treated that wood underneath with something waterproof, or it won't last long! Englands moisture will get a hold of those beams before you know it!

Shaun your better off laying your artificial grass on a mot base, will stay more level than a sand base
