Let’s fly away with this week’s guest, the multi-talented guitar shredding & Frank Sinatra singing Mark Tremonti!

Right off the bat we jump into Mark & Johnny’s shared passion for big band music, most notably Frank Sinatra. Mark explains how he was able to assemble Frank’s original band to record the Mark Tremonti Sings Frank Sinatra album, and what that experience was like. Mark also reveals how he was able to get the Sinatra family on-board for this project and how it supports resources and advocacy for the Down syndrome community.

We touch on Alter Bridge’s latest release, Pawns & Kings, and the upcoming tour cycle to support the record. Mark shares some of his favorite (and least favorite) past performances, including a stint on Saturday Night Live complete with a Will Farrell interaction. With recent rumblings from Scott Stapp about a possible Creed reunion, Johnny gets down to the facts with Mark – is a Creed reunion on the books?

    Met Mark after a San Antonio Tremonti show – I had his book – A Dying Machine – I told him my daughters name was Stella – the main character of the book. He got so excited and signed the cover – Stella – you are the main character! It was so tremendous. He told me he and his wife always wanted to have a daughter and name her Stella. I’m so happy it finally happened and she is wonderful like mine. Cheers Mark – you are a true class act.

    I’ll be honest it’s kinda concerning to hear Mark say Walk the Sky was a “one off” with the sound change (as minor or major as it was). Cause after this album with them reverting to old habits and their usual sound,it just feels like he’s saying they’ll never change things up again. And to me,Alter Bridge is at that point in their career where they need to do that to keep things interesting and fresh and not regurgitated.

    Mark Tremonti was getting to the meat of things on how he got permission to perform Sinatra and Johnny numb nuts had to cut him off and digress on something else……Not cool to keep cutting you guest off whilst they're explaining something!
