Quinacridone Magenta
Pthalo Turquoise
Pthalo Blue Red Shade

Extra’s — French Ultramarine, Payne’s Blue Grey, Sepia

If you choose to paint along here is my formula for an emotive watercolor gardening experience:
1) Focal Point: Loose pencil sketch of subject focusing on your main character
2) Background: Loose soft watercolor layer with expressive brush strokes to create an out of focus backdrop and anchor for your focal point (tea consistency)
3) Focal Point: Begin with the Push and Pull method, laying in a line of color with your round brush and blending with a damp to slightly wet angle shader brush (tea consistency)
-try pushing angle shader brush into or away from color line for variation.
4) Background: Once dry begin to frame your main character, darkening the value directly around your focal point and blending into background. If foliage, leaves, branches are needed use negative painting = painting the area around the shape. (tea to milk consistency)
-try French Ultramarine for framing, creates a dark value “glow”
5) Focal Point: Once Dry begin to deepen values, shadows, and details as needed. (tea to milk consistency)
-try to add limited details, just enough to tell the story
6) Dry Brush and Stencil lifting to add texture and interest as needed.

Color Mix Tip: Adding more water = tea consistency/ lighter values Less water =milk consistency/ darker values
Caution: Pthalo colors are very dominant in mixes, less is more.
