Learn how to prepare a raised gardening bed using a simple no-dig lasagne method, which we call “Compost as You Grow”. Using this method allows you to begin building up stores of homemade compost while also growing wonderful vegetables. Effective & Easy!
Build your raised bed with this simple 10 step process:
1. Cardboard sprinkled with Blood and Bone.
2. Cow Manure.
3. Lucerne sprinkled with Lime and Rock Dust.
4. Water – soak bed thoroughly.
5. Pea Straw layer topped with Blood & Bone and Coco Coir.
6. Water again.
7. Worm Castings.
8. Repeat steps 3-7 until filled.
9. Compost topping.
10. Water in with Instant humus.
With a little care over the next few months the Lucerne and Pea straw layers will be composted, mostly by worms and microbes, providing my growing plants with nutrient-rich organic material.
