  1. Garageband? Or perhaps a few choice words from you explaining why (if this is the case) we should move on up/out from GB to something else at our earliest opportunity etc 🙂

  2. I have been a Cakewalk user for many years. Since Bandlab took over, the software has become so much better and most importantly stable. No dropouts or crashes at all. Top professional and no differences to others. And it's free!

What was not mentioned here, and I think this is especially important for beginners to know: it's all about workflow! it takes time to learn to use a DAW. The learning curve is not to be underestimated, so once you have chosen a DAW and become accustomed to the workflow, it becomes more difficult to switch to another. So here's my recommendation: try as many as you can and go with your gut. Which DAW feels intuitively good and makes sense to you. Which one let's you work fast. Don't worry about what others say. It has to work for you. And once you've decided, learn to use the DAW quickly – an online course or videos will get you there fast. Enjoy!

  3. I am a tecnical support in IT indusrty and ive tried a lot. For me the easiest to learn and is so poweful is Mixcraft Pro currently version 9 for it is literally so super easy to learn.

  4. DAW Wars is the most ridiculous name for this video you could have possibly made combined with one of the biggest dad jokes I’ve seen on YouTube.

    I love it.

I haven’t even watched yet but it gets a like. Now I’ll watch it!

  5. They all do the job very well for the most part. Mine is Cubase, and always will be for no other reason than I have years invested and don't need to learn another software. Just want to record and mix. Everything I need is there, so not looking at fringe features that would necessitate a switch for me.

  6. There" s this "Bran injured women". She plays guitar and sings. She thinks she's a medium: with "LeadBelly." And with "that"; can obtain: all influenced guitars; between her and "LeadBelly". By the means of a; special set of "gloves". "The Gloves With The Riffs". [I think a lot of "head injured" people; tend to be(i.e.) Clairvoyant. ] And, she thinks music; is kind of: a waste of time. * She's rater build factories. * But I've seen her; tell people that; don't like her. Stop their attack [of what ever type]. And persuade to listen; to her sing and play guitar. [*And it is certain; those people hate her… A lot] * She does get bossy… Mostly because: [She's slept in the dirt… A lot] (hoe-boe) Drifter: that sorta thing. * Come to thing of it… What about that type? Stories of "White horses"; and the like. [Lots of stories. True stories… And fiction.] One special "story telling skill" she has is: she can get a whole neighborhood. In "tears"; for about 4 hours. [With a story telling performance.] * Hey I use "audacity"; And always have: with cheap, junky mics; from phones and tape cassette units. Except, for 1 mic. But to set it up takes "hours"; it's almost like work. But, the quality; is about equal to: a good 1940's film sound track. [With is better then a lot of people can get.] But you guys have "better". So much better. I'm sure you got "secret" sound stuff. You'ld never tell; unless your gilding the intel; to your students. Me too. This was long wined; but I did comment on; what I use. Is the "DAW"; such a drastic difference? * I'll keep watching… Thanks

  7. DAW = Digital Audio Workstation.

Digital Audio Workstation = Desk, computer, audio interface, monitors, controller keyboard, peripherals, audio software, etc.

Audio software = Sequencer, audio editor, plugins, etc.

True since the 80's. Still true today.

  8. Great video!! I´m glad to see all of these so called "underrated" or "not industry standard" DAWs in this episode. I´m really familiar with most of them, because I think it´s fine to try new territories and then make a decision what is best for me or for other music or producing oriented artists. All of this products have their pluses and minuses so it is really the matter of individual taste 🙂I cannot say which my favourite is… Btw. I know that these videos have theirs limited amount of time, but I missed some of the KEY Features of some of these daws!!! (In Cakewalk is very important "Pro channel" feature and more…, In Waveform really "One window workflow" – with the capability of open implemented universal properties and parameter editing lower part of the window, which changes immediately when you click wherever you want – plugin, clip, loop, tempo map or even the input of the track) etc…. And at the end I want to agree with some of the guys here, that the Harrison Mixbus is reeeally worth to mentioned!!! Some years passed since I give this DAW a try, BUT – even I was not too familiar with the audio and midi editing view (based on Ardour daw)- The SOUND experience was (don´t know why) something like FROM OUT OF THIS UNIVERSE… Sooo wonderfull !!! Thanks a lot, and Good Luck!

  9. Before I moved to Pro Tools I was brought up on Cakewalk and the deciding moment was when they stopped supporting notation and then hobbled it.

  10. 😊I for sure want to try the cakewalk because I know jaws on my old good interface with XP Pro had scripts for cakewalk, same with the old Win Me.

  11. My newest computer unfortunately doesn't have the interface array as my older ones did. It has the power and room, but not many hook ups, and limited types. I would need extra hardware items.

  12. I started with Pro Tools but made the switch to Studio One V1. Now have Studio One 6 and I am very happy with it. Like anything it could always be improved but for me, I feel most comfortable with it. I have also used Digital Performer, Cakewalk, Luna, Samplitube and Harrison Mixbus. Harrison Mixbus is a great sounding DAW, really love that Harrison console sound. Just wish it had the Studio One workflow. Maybe someday the two companies will work together, I can only hope. Thank you for the great video. Stay safe and may God bless 🙏✝️🙏
