Home Tour | A Modern Farmhouse Outside Chicago

This home tour takes us into a modern farmhouse in the Chicago area – complete with huge ceilings, black steel windows, and lots of natural light, this home gives any aspiring designer lots of ideas. From a black steel hooded kitchen (sure to be in the 2023 kitchen design trends) to reclaimed Chicago brick, this is a great home to model year-round living that embraces the outside. This home has good ideas for how to design with your TV, how to design a home for children, how to design a butler’s pantry, and how to fuse modern and traditional interior design styles. The high ceilings and oversized light fixtures lend dramatic scale, and Frank shows us how he designed a kitchen for entertaining and cooking. There is also a great office design idea and some great 2023 bathroom trend ideas – his and her showers, sinks, and water closets. A neutral, airy home that seamlessly blends modern and traditional interior design ideas, viewers will love this home by interior designer Frank Ponterio.

  1. Where's the female energy? Too harsh and masculine. And gray – the color of depression, prison walls and rainy weather – in the bedroom? Are you trying to obliterate the wife?

  2. If it’s 1 storey it’s not a house it’s a bungalow. It’s not to my taste a bit bland with too much stone cladding, but it looks well done with quality fixtures. I’d happily visit.

  3. Beautifully designed👏🏻. Love all of it. I would definitely have a bath tub 😄

  4. To paraphrase the designer , casual elegance . This lovely home represents to this viewer , comfort and joy !
