I bought an original painting by my favorite Artist! 🌱 Cozy Art Vlog 🌸

I bought an original painting by my favorite artist! His name is Igor Nekraha and he is Ukrainian. He creates beautiful minimal landscapes in acrylic paint. I also went shopping for art supplies and painted 3 landscapes. Hope this cozy art vlog from my art studio will inspire you to paint with me because art is good for the soul. Sending you great inspiration and good creative vibes πŸ™‚

  1. PAINT A SCRAP FIRST!!! OH NO, I KNOW ITS ALREADY DONE. And I'm still Like nooooo, paint a swatch and let it dry. Then adjust. Oh I hope it turns out amazing anyhow.

  2. The photography is great! You have an excellent eye for color play in the landscape. I love them.

  3. So much to say… As usual, I found so much inspiration in your vlog! It actually came at the perfect time for me. Last night I did two oil pastel paintings, and I absolutely hated them both. I've been trying to reach for something, and I'm not even sure what it is, but I do know that I haven't gotten there yet. I seriously contemplated quitting last night, and I went to bed feeling so discouraged. Then this morning, I saw your vlog, and I felt inspired to keep trying. It helps so much to listen to your thought process as you make and evaluate your art. So once again, I want to thank you for the inspiration. I'm certain I wouldn't be feeling this positive about my own art (and that I'll get there someday!) if you hadn't posted this vlog. Have a great weekend!

  4. International shipping prices are a stinking outrage. 🀬 And they ALWAYS screw something up.

I think gradients are overkill for minimalistic art. Too much information for the eyes. Maybe just flat colours or banding with as little as possible colours would work better.

  5. With the Derwent pastel pencils, you're going to want to sharpen them manually with a knife. I have the full set and went through a lot with them. I was using a hand held (and also tried electric) pencil sharpener. As you sharpen, the core breaks… and you sharpen some more …and the core breaks… Sharpen with a knife and you'll be fine. If you run into this, keep the cores and crush them in a mortar and pestle and use a brush (like with charcoal powder) to get some very nice blending (and not waste). Nice to see you working with soft pastels too! For paper, you can also use watercolor paper and use clear gesso with some grit (pumice)… Good luck and great video. Hugs to Lennox and Lake.

  6. You can make your own Pastel paper by using watercolor paper and applying one or two coats of clear texture gesso. It's not exactly as professional pastel paper, but it does create some texture that allows you to apply soft pastels without having to spend tons of $ on professional paper. just a suggestion πŸ™‚

  7. Hi Syndia, UArt 600 is my favorite paper for soft pastels. To me, they look a little like gouache or acrylic on the UArt. But sooooo many pastel artists use Claire Fontaine Pastelmat, especially for drawing animals. I am very curious to know what you think after you try them both.

  8. You bought a beautiful painting. About the neon green; I think you should avoid placing the painting near the direct sunlight or even near the sunlight. Color green is well known to fade away faster than any other color. This is a well know fact, but I don't know exactly why. Maybe because green is not one of the 3 primary colors in the spectrum.

  9. Why not try those same paintings using watercolor? Some watercolor paints are very intense, like Daniel Smith. I paint the same paintings over and over. Usually each rendition has one thing I like about it.
Pastelmat is THE best paper for soft pastels and for pastel pencils. I tried them all and it’s very, very good.

  10. Hi syndia ido t really understand why you want to do a different technique why change something your good at,,and I think your paintings are better than the one you bought. But that my personal thought and the tree one you did I really liked it and don’t think there were too many trees in it.

  11. Thank you for your Videos. I love all of them. I really like the paint with the threes πŸ˜‰

  12. yeah pastel mat is not cheap πŸ˜‘ I only have some because of some birthday money
