It’s Leaf Clearing Time. The Stihl BR 600. Its A Beast. #gardening #garden #lawns

Hello You Tube, it’s Rob from Maxwells Grass Cutting Services, based in the North East of England.

Today I am using the Stihl BR 600 leaf blower. What a machine. Was is it necessary, or was it an extravagant purchase.

Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.

Remember, when the green gold is growing, keep mowing.

All the best.

  1. I've got the Husqvarna 525BX it's great, light and super low vibration. Much better than the Stihl. I'm yet to purchase a backpack blower as my main leaf blowing job the customer has a old Stihl backpack blower that I use. I think I'll still get my own at some point though 👍🏻

  2. Pinged a window today strimming on a brand new big contract job. So depressing. Customer wasnt too bad but I feel really bad 😢

  3. Great vid as always. Agree with you that the back pack blowers are a little overkill for mow, blow and go's. I'm still cutting grass down here in the south west, it's still growing!!!!! Although, I started to get all the leaf clearances coming in, yay!! Keep up the great work and hope winter is kind to you too.

  4. i use the same but go over the leaves with honda mulching mower to reduce the volume, works a treat 👍🏻

  5. we have aStihl 600, 700 and a 800. I find the 600 is the best power to weight balance. the big blowers are essential for big gardens full of leaves this time of the year, one garden we even take 2 big blowers. the other 10 months of the year my 36v electric blower is plenty

  6. Brilliant when you are dealing with a lot of leaves, I’ve considered getting one but I know it would just sit in the garage for 48 weeks of the year.

  7. Please try and leave the leaves if you can, nature is untidy and leaves provide essential habitat for over wintering insects and larvae…… plus they easily breakdown and feed the beds…..

  8. I cut lawn all the way up until Christmas.
Clients want it. Not sure why you stop the grass is still growing

  9. I use a BR450c-ef with the electric start. Thought it might be a bit gimmicky but it's actually very handy if someone stops you to talk to you, and it's plenty powerful for me. Where I used to work many years ago had the most powerful backpack blowers, you blow bedding plants clean out of the ground if you're not careful! Hope the weather's ok up there, been very wet here!

  10. There is definitely a time and a place for a br600. Mine was blasting away today. Most of the time I can't be bothered with it, too big, awkward in confined spaces, drinks the fuel. A pain to carry about in the van however I really like it in November December so happy I've got one.

  11. Great Rob I got one last year and yes it sits most of the year but boy it’s working now, saves jots of time and effort and will last for years and it gets your tax down.

  12. Great video Rob, knowing the difference between a "want" and a "need" is something I'm not good at, that's why my shed is full of machines that only come out a few times a year

  13. When the leaves are all down and cleared its powerwashing time rob extend your season a bit more try a bit of fencing and tree work soon be March again

  14. BR800 for me, absolutely love it. Does weigh a ton though 😅
I bought it to use on 4 big leaf jobs I do through the autumn/winter & it’s more than twice as quick as using the handheld. Uses more than twice the amount of petrol though!

  15. Hi Rob I have the BR800 🤣 anyway, there’s absolutely awesome like you I only use it in autumn cleaning up after hedges mainly but I couldn’t be with out it!! Take care mate 👍

  16. Yea Rob it's good to have for the bigger jobs. I've the BR800 use it for all my hedging job's and leaves 🍂🍁 & what you say they like a drink. Just like you just use the hand held blower for the grass runs. Weather great over here

  17. Have you been injuring your first finger on your left hand Rob and keep doing what you're doing Rob you're doing brilliantly bud

  18. BR600. Cracking bit of kit. As you say. Not used that often and expensive . But if you ever come to sell they command good money if looked after second hand. Plus when it's needed. Nothing is better. One thing you may not know tho. After about 1yrs usage you'll need to get the valves serviced / re-set.. It can be game over if you don't. But that said. For the amount of times we use ours the one year service could easily be 3-4 years. If you know what I mean? Day to day blower. For me. Dewalt battery. Lightweight and enough ooomph for most jobs in the dry.

  19. I’m on my second BR600, got the current 1 am using the now 3 years ago on gumtree for £120 and still running to this day and used daily mate 👍

  20. Looked a cracking day for it mate 👍 love the 600 a also have the br430 and a bg56 for smaller stuff they all work spot on, I always set the valves once a season on the stihl 4mix engines seems to keep em on point

  21. Nice blower Rob. I bought lots of unnecessary gear for my business, but a backpack blower was not one of them. It was carrying a large blower to every little job that put me off.

  22. I'm the same. Backpack only comes out this time of year. Hand held blowers are more manoeuvrable and not so awkward in the back of the van for the rest of the year
