I'm making gumbo for Christmas dinner and getting the ingredients this week but I guess they aren't considered Holliday foods lol. My daughter is getting the turkey for Thanksgiving and I'm doing the sides. I have noticed the prices of some of the Thanksgiving sides ingredients going back down in price.
Just wanna tell you, my brother priced tires for his truck about eight months ago and talked himself out of buying at the time. They were $178 a tire. I know, ridiculous! He looked the other day and they are $298 a tire. Up $150 a tire in 8months!!!!!!!!!! Sickening!
We used to get 10-12 turkeys at the inexpensive Thanksgiving time then have a baked turkey dinner once per month.
Autumn, At Walmart in Ohio today I got a Honeysuckle White Brand 15 lb turkey for 14 bucks and change. (98 cents per lb) I found a 10 lb spiral sliced Honey ham at Walmart for 25 bucks . (2.48 per lb) I already had a ham in the freezer so that one will be for Easter. I had 2 turkey breasts that will be thawed cooked and going in the pressure canner. Hope I can get some great broth from it too. I always use an immersion blender and blend in the veggies into the broth. Makes a super rich broth. Yummy !!!
I have fixed income, I did not see a increase in Social Security. But food stamps which are paid for by Social Security gets more. Explain it to me. Poor people get more than the people that worked for it. Explain it to me.

I was told, I was a white male, here's a list of food banks to go figure it out ‼️ my girl friend had her food stamps cut, and was told she was old and didn't have to eat as much ‼️that was 2016 , I applied told that I qualify for 185 a month but they won't issue them , told me I didn't exist non-factual or non-existent numbers nobody by my name ever lived in Florida ❓ on a list ❓

This is exactly what they want! The government wants everyone dependent on the government.. they will get people on food stamps and people get used to being given things for free that they do what most are doing now limiting the amount of work they do so they can keep there benefits.. how many times have u heard people say I can only work 20yrs a week so I don’t lose my benefits? I hear it from food stamp people and those on section 8. I know someone who’s been living on section 8 for 20yrs now., that’s ridiculous.. these programs should be temporary.. how does it take someone 20yrs to fix there situations? It doesn’t they keep themselves down in order to keep the freebies coming in.. which means the working class are slaves not only to the government but, to those who are able and can work to sit and get freebies.. not saying anyone in this community is doing that.. I believe that majority if not all who are in the prepper community are not doing this because we’re all well aware of how it works and how they want us lazy and dependent on the government.. I struggle alot.. but, I’d rather struggle then hand myself over to the government.. this is how there gonna supposedly save us all in the end. They will take it away and offer it back as universal income and all u hsve to do is give up your entire freedom (which really doesn’t exist anyways) but, gives them complete control and by means of force for none compliant if they give u universal income all regulated by the government.. and they can even take it away if u don’t comply.. It’s those who mooch off the system that are going to hand over our freedoms for there selfishness.. there’s too many of them and not enough of us who are willing to go without in order to keep ourselves free.. I’m not referring to those who need a little helping hand like I have in the past but that’s all it’s ever been I’d rather make more rather then be told I can only make a certain amount of money.. that’s exactly what universal is.. welfare is a prime example of what universal income would be like u are owned.. u tell them everything about u.. u can’t make over a certain amount of money and u must be looking for work in order to keep it.. if u make to much they will send u a letter and cut u off and it’s pretty strict too if u make a little over one month they cut u off but the next month U qualify u don’t automatically get that money again u have to reapply.. they pretty much own u.. I don’t understand his one can be fine with that? Please explain how anyone could be fine with that for 20yrs? I know I couldn’t.. if I need any assistance I’m gonna aim for those services not affiliated with any government.. and remember if u go to food banks for a church. Remember where those donations come from.. the churches take all the credit but, it’s the people who pay and donate goods.. they are the ones who should be receiving the credit.. let credit go where credit is due.. I’m getting ready to Mylar bag some rice, sugar, flour and whatever else I cold up with I have 50lb bags of stuff to do.. I’ve been sick sense two days after Halloween.. I will get what I can done because I’m sick.. keep stocking and prepping it’s gonna get worse before it gets better.. good night everyone.
My husband wanted us to go to our local town grocery store and get our turkey tonight. So, we just got back from the store. I bought a 20 lb turkey and all the canned goods for Thanksgiving. If we get to go and get fresh produce before Thanksgiving that would be great!…if not, we are thankful for what we do have!

Thank you for this information about the pricing on food for the holidays and for those of us that use the Snap / EBT cards. Be blessed , stay safe and healthy. Just want my "stock up for a rainy day" community to stay healthy and continue to bring news around our world that is not being reported.
Why am I not surprised Indiana is not on that list? Ha!! They wouldn’t give you snap if you were homeless lived on the street with 5 kids and no income.
My husband lost his job and was denied unemployment in Virginia. I had to apply for food stamps, I'm choosing my food carefully and trying to build my stockpile, hitting the sales and getting canned meat and veggies. This was a blessing, but I must say I'm embarrassed at the checkout

not per personthat comes later each month. Not sure why it’s $95 but Its always very helpful especially in the middle of the month when the balance starts getting scarce. I’m so grateful for the help always! I didn’t always need the help. My mom had to lecture me about how she’s paying for me to get these benefits with her taxes and I had better sign up. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor right around the time when my salon got shut down from Covid so it’s been very rough ever since. Especially having 3, school age, all season athletes and an older son in University, literally everything helps. I’m just too sick to have a schedule anymore, I always feel so guilty if I have to cancel appts last minute due to being too sick to go in. So I just didn’t go back when everything opened up again and I’m going to have to get on disability. Anyways, Oregon’s been generous but it’s also one of the top 5 most expensive states in our country. We don’t have sales tax either so that’s nice. Anywho, I’m rambling! Love y’all! Love you Autumn. I get $ 23 per month as a single disabled individual…..that's up from $20 a month. There is no help for disabled people.

You can make many different dishes with turkey just to name a few make turkey noodle soup and hot turkey sandwiches, turkey pot pie, cheesey turkey veg casserole, or cheesey turkey broc and Rice 🍚
I don't think anyone can predict the timing of the next great depression with any great accuracy, Autumn. I think that '23 is going to be much too early for it. I think they're going to keep the pain going as long as they can so that when they finally introduce the new currency the majority of the people (the ones that haven't prepared) will willingly accept it without any great opposition on their part. I believe that we're in a recession now and that we won't see a true depression until about 2030 at the earliest. That doesn't mean that we should stop preparing. Just the opposite. We should try and keep preparing as much as possible until we can't anymore.
If u r one Medicare u can get extra for OTC items & healthy foods. Not sure of the amount cause I think that varies. But it helps. It doesn't affect ur Snap/EBT amount either. Check with ur insurance company to see if u can get it. I save a lot of cash by using mine.
