DIY Japanese Rice Fish Mini Pond in a Peaceful Garden (Medaka Biotope)



Hello everyone, I am very excited to introduce my little Japanese rice fish. I made a mini pond in my new Japanese style garden and have been looking after the fish. It is so peaceful to watch little fish swimming in a mini pond. This time, I would love to share what I have learnt from my mistakes of setting up a pond etc. Hope you enjoy watching this video!

    I'm doing this! One question though; is the hot glue strong enough to hold water? I've always had it deteriorate from water or liquids. Might try it with silicone. I actually have a few different pots to choose from. Some with and some without drainage holes.

    Have you done this with any other fish? I want to get a few set up. Rice fish, American flatfish, guppies, platies, mollies, even try some female bettas outside in a protected area. I think it could be great, as I live in a similar climate to Gold Coast, but opposite hemisphere: San Diego, in Southern California🌈🌊🌞😂 – Erik

    Hi! Your mini pond is beautiful! I have 4 cats and I noticed you used a cover at first, but then you didn't. Do cats get used to the pond and not bother the fish after a while?

    Very cool! You could also burn the edges of the hole with a lighter to prevent any sharp edges that could scratch the fish, leading to infections
