Dugout Shelter Build With Hand Tools- FROM START TO FINISH

Hi everyone!
It is difficult to describe the beauty and magic that nature selflessly gives us in words. Sometimes a man gets lost and takes more than he needs, maybe it’s just that in human nature, maybe we just need to satisfy our ego… who will know? The fact is that sooner or later we have to return what we temporarily borrowed for the balance to be met. I am very grateful for everything I have been given to use.

In this video, I will show you how to make a super comfortable camping
dugout with hand tools.
The tools I used to make the dugout were: a shovel, an ax, a survival knife, a saw, and a chisel. You will also see how I arranged my dugout working on outdoor and indoor space aesthetics. In the dugout set up a stove, I had previously made from a motor oil barrel in my home workshop. Among other things, I made and installed a bed, stairs, table, and, bench. It was very fun and pleasant camping. In the dugout, it is very warm and comfortable to sleep in.
To make such a shelter you need to invest some of your time and a lot of physical activity.
I am very grateful to share my forest secret with you.

  1. Well well well another top notch shelter. No one has mad skills like you that’s for sure. A one of a kind – 5 Star no doubt. I love watching your videos. Thank you……Many Blessings……Sandy

  2. Well I wonder why many people are homeless when you can build a shelter like this as your home. I guess they can go to the forest and build some shelter instead of roaming around the city.

  7. I remember this building series. It's nice to watch it again of the whole build in a short time.

  8. Dude I've watched like 5 seconds of the video and I'm already loving it! You are genuinely my inspiration! Thank you for your expertise and your really amazing work once again! Always love seeing your videos!

  9. Another masterpiece. You should rent some of those out . I’m sure a lot of people would love to escape life’s pressures at times. Thank you for all you do and the two of you stay safe.

  10. I was watching this video and then my neighbour came and we watched it together. He said that this video changed his life and touched his heart. I then went and rented a projector in a big field and all my villagers watched it and it changed their lives too. We all are so grateful.
    Thank You for this video….

  11. I kinda imagine , that now with all the influx of shelter build videos all over the world that I'd expect to come across wee huts and cabins everywhere I may go for a hike ..

These are such essential skills .
To know how to build with and survive in nature .
One thought I have to this .
Is the need to live in harmony with it.
Those who respect nature ,may well survive better in it .

Thou one may counter as well .
Respect for nature also may get us to check what we do within.
Harvests of food , need be done mindful of food needed later , for you and others ..

What I'm getting at , and not taking anything away from this build, I got a 10 Acre lot out of town so I can build some shelters .
I grew up taking survival training in the early 70,s
Did a lot of deep winter camps .
We would cross country ski in .
Then separate till just near past shouting distance from.each other .

Build our shelters and hunker down for a few nights to a week .
Most would go to great lengths, cutting away branches, knocking down trees if we were deep in the borealis. However I reasoned two things . One , I'd not be there so long I needed a full on home .
Two I'd rather expend my daylight energy making certain I had enough fule for heat , and food if it were the sort a trip I needed to contend with that
I'd just find a fallen green or leaning tree , cut away the underside , secure up and add just what was needed for a roof , then get on with things .

Seemed to me a tree invests a hell of a lot of energy and time for me to come along , cut them down on a whim to stay for a short while .
    Them move on .

The real art of survival is doing so with the bare minimum.
    On that matter .
You take a look at what homeless people have to contend with in a northern country
They are the Mountain Men of our times
For they live the life , completely at odds with nature, at mercy to the elements and dangers .

Whereas most the rest of us " myself included " get to return whenever we wish , to all the comforts of hot and cold running water and all the amenities.
We may play at it .
But best not huff and puff too much .

My respect to those who are actually struggling to survive .
Every one of whomever, all the world over .
    Just putting this out there.
All my regards to the skill and effort in your hut , awesome construction!

  12. This shelter looks a kind of primitive but structural-wise is modern civil engineering concept, which is strong & solid …. That's a good built & I also like your outdoor mushroom style small table and the bench very much !

  13. This is a really good looking little place. My only concern is a heavy rain getting into the place. I think it maybe better to put some kind of roof above the stairs. But I really like it.

  14. This was an excellent build.
Quick question, did you have an intern at Jimmy Johns because you built it Freaky fast 😂😂😂😂

  15. You are a brilliant craftsman with a artistic imagination 😊I love your videos and your gorgeous Malinois ! Stay safe and healthy! Take care

  16. Halfway through, I became a fan. To pre-build the ceiling and floors, were genius. Saved you some time and resources. Keep it up..👍
