Garden Plans

Big Improvement to the garden

In today’s episode so many garden changes are happening. Things are starting to take shape. The Woodchipper arrived and my problem was solved. All the boundary branches were chipped into fresh new bark that I can use to mulch the beds and paths in the garden. Also, we take a trip to Mark’s and he donates a log cabin style shed to the channel. This will be repurposed to clad the existing shed into a rustic log cabin at the back of the garden. With a log burning stove to keep warm in. I also make composting bay plans, redesigning the polytunnel and plant out all the remaining garlic. Some to be used as green garlic next year! The gardening improvements have made such a difference. We also discuss allotment plot fees to rent the area and how much it costs in your area. So much planned. Stay tuned…

  1. What?! No bobble toque?😂 🇨🇦🇨🇦. Toque is French. Canada is a bilingual country…supposedly. 👍👍🇨🇦😂

  2. Looking great Benny I pay nought 😂😂😂. I would leave the door in the new poly for now just in case you change your mind you can always still put a full bed there. Wood chippings are fantastic for the new plot 👍👍. Have a fantastic week 🐝 safe hope the weather holds up

  3. Love the name, Fig and Olive Plot. That’s sheer poetry. 🇨🇦🇨🇦. And a ‘madness of nasturtiums’! Perfect!

  4. Shed will be very useful Danny and so will the middle bed in the tunnel, the height will make a huge dif for large suff like toms

  5. My plot is 240 m2 and I pay 48€ per year (20 cents per m2 per year) and a membership fee of 5€ per year.
I am so curious to see what you are going to do with your new plot! Greetings from the netherlands🌱🌱🍁🍂🍄🍄

  6. The new plot will look really good when finished, a real nice place to relax.
When you get a new plot do you get told of any soil diseases the plot has? your got garlic in so that will let you know if it has white rot.
Will you test with some brassica for club root?

  7. I used to pay £55 per year but we moved house and lucky as my neighbour lets me use some of their land for free for my allotment
Deal is my hubby cuts the grass 3/4 times a year in the field adjacent to the plot. I do miss the social aspects of being on a site but the plus side is it’s only next door

  8. I’m so excited to see the developments of the cabin…..it’s going to look amazing with seating area too. Your rent is so cheap!! Mine her in Andover, Hampshire is £58 (we have water from April to October included) Have a good week ahead Danny 💪🏼😁

  9. All coming together danny mate👌👌👌
I pay £50 a year for 35m ×12m with water for the year, getting another 35m ×15 at same price as its side by side🙏😁👌

  10. Danny ours is a private allotment,so it's a three figure sum, that's the norm here in Ireland. It's a beautiful place, with a great community spirit, people come and go. Love the name of the new plot. I know you know Terry King, his tunnel is great, high beds are great. I wouldn't get rid of the door, good for ventilation in the summer. That chipping is fabulous, glad got it all cleared and putting to good use. Great work Danny.

  11. I am surprised your plots are so cheap, and decent sizes too. Never owned one but i tell you if ji lived in the UK and was even 20 years younger id be getting one, who knows maybe hubby would join me!!!
Love the new plots name it brings the thought of warm summer days. Ive returned home to Tas to find my large raised steel bed which id filled with composting material to use on return is a mass of nasturtiums in full flower, so pretty but once this rain passes they’ll have to go.
Too wet right now to even get seeds planted via direct sow, so disappointing p, mind still in the throws of jet lag so early days yet.

  12. Your plots are a real bargain. I no longer have a community garden plot in Southern California, but I looked up the current charges for the one closest to me: $160 per year for a plot 20×30 feet (600 square feet). Water is provided all year, which is helpful because our annual rainfall is only 12 inches per year (and we’ve experienced drought conditions frequently in recent years). Also manure and wood chips are included and always available.

Can’t wait to see how your new plot goes together. I expect it’ll be beautiful, just like the Grapevine Garden.
