How to Wax Cheese at Home

In this video we are showing you how we wax cheese. It can be done with any cheese whether homemade or shop bought as long as it’s a hard cheese. Waxed cheeses can be stored for up to 20 years without refrigeration and the best things is they actually improve with age. As we have said before we are looking to include more homesteading content on Gardens for Life as we believe the garden is the engine room of the homestead and the kitchen connects it to our daily lives. Our Homesteading workshop days are sold out for November, book your spot for December now (Link Below). Watch previous video to get an idea what it’s all about. 6 different workshops in 1 day.http://gardensforlife.ie/homesteading-workshop-day-ireland-a-glimpse/Check out our Workshops, Online Courses, Tubers, Plants and Cuttings:

  1. Great cheese waxing demo, thank you for sharing. When you use up the cheeses, would it make sense to keep the used wax and reuse it for the next batch or is that asking for moldy trouble?
