My theory for why you aren't getting to be a professor is because every time you start a new Pokemon adventure you aren't the same Seri as your last adventure which means you start back as your younger self before you became the Pixel Biologist you are. Which mean this Seri is young inexperienced has no idea how to do certain things you are her guide the first and original Seri who started the pokemon adventures who helps the different Seri on their paths to become great. You're like a spirit guide that only the Seri's can see and talk to same with any pokemon that is catched by the Seri's. So this can explain why you always start at the beginning from scratch and why your mom is always there to greet you before you start your journey, because you are a younger, inexperienced, fresh, eager Seri.

I’m pretty sure the starters have the usual low female gender rate. I was specifically soft resetting for a female Sprigatito as I was naming it after a kitten I lost recently. Tho I got pretty lucky and got her after 2 resets so I’m not 100% certain.

The way I like to picture it for experienced trainers is that there is a travel program that allows those who wish to visit new regions at square 1 to better enjoy the experience, only gaining access to already owned Pokemon when certain conditions are met

seri be cool if explain how the our where Rowlet's go this world to giant flower tree maybe a myth, maybe theirs a crossroad between worlds or arceus created the first worlds, not just one first. explain why we arceus rarely know normal, traveling between 100s of worlds the first worlds it created at the same time.
Although you are very smart and knowledgeable about Pokémon you are bad at battling so of course you would be mistaken for a student and not a trainer let alone a biologist. No disrespect of course.

Personally I like to think that the ingame player version of Seri is a child, but like many Pokemon protagonists is a bit of a child prodigy, to the point that if this were any other region she could probably be a professor. I mean in most of the Pokemon games many kids seem to be treated like adults, travelling alone, getting jobs (there's a hotel minigame in one game), and even capturing literal gods as young as 10 years old. But for whatever reason, in the Paldea region kid!Seri gets treated like a normal kid rather than the seasoned Pokemon adventurer she is. Maybe her qualification paperwork got mixed up when moving there, maybe Paldea has different laws regarding children, its hard to say. But now she just has to move back in with her mother and put up with going to school even though she might even know more than some of the newer teachers.

…And then you still have to sit through a tutorial section because you are the Professor handing out pokemon to a new trainer. ^^ Not sure how choosing would go but you would end up with the third, ”leftover” pokemon. And then it will be your last day at work before you leave for a research project. And then it would be all up for you to go explore. ^^
Also, I find it weird that the student president is in our class. Which means that Either, they goofed big and have to repeat a year. Or, you are (newly moved in) a senior transfer student and newbie treatment is because you are using a new language and all your pokemon are stuck in quarantaine. 🙂

I'm playing Violet, too! When I started last night and saw the new bird pokemon, my first reaction was "FLAMINGOS!!!" followed by "Ohhhh…I can't wait for Seri's reaction!" Loving the roleplaying you have going on! And the pokedex!!! Love the newest version of it! Can't wait for all of our new adventures!
