Luckily my car has the ability to Just unlock my driver's side door while leaving the other doors locked. My windows are dark and so are the seats, I carry a dark wool throw for "just in case" but also hides anything that does not fit in the trunk. Honestly I find I am extremely sensitive to those around me, always carrying my purse cross body, my keys in my pocket under my coat not in my coat pocket. I wait, even return to the store if there are people in proximity of my car who don't seem to be moving on to other vehicles or toward the store. Thanks Autumn,!!! Even if we 'know' things hearing the latest rip-off keeps us a little more sensitive to potential problems (especially when the perpetrator looks 'normal' or acts 'kind').
I live in a small rural town and we have that happen here where they distract you and steal your purse. They know police won’t put any effort into investigation so criminals have nothing to lose by at least trying.
Too all of my sisters out there, especially you single ones, Do Not go shopping alone. Especially not at night. I realize that, some don't have a choice. But remember that as a female you are much like a gazelle being targeted by the lion. Pay attention. Don't get me wrong, men can be victimized too. But as a woman, you are an easier target. Much love and many prayers for all of my brothers and sisters out there.
You can get a tracking detector on your app store for free bc many are using tacking tags that they place behind ur license plate or on your car not noticeable and this app might save your life to scan before and after your trips in the store just to be sure. They are getting more sneaky about stalking ya and making u a victim so for your safety and children's get the tracking detector app! I also grab my purse and put it in car with kiddos on the floor in front of them then I lock the car till I get to the back hatch before I load my groceries. I use then unlock the car and hold my key ring between my fingers with key between my pointer and middle finger like that Incase I need it for protection it's sad that it has come to This but is getting beyond ridiculous assaults.
If anybody tries to tell me something's wrong with my car I think them and tell him my husband will look at it. If you get in your vehicle and start driving you know if you've got a major problem going on. These days I trust nobody and I come from a very small place. I even lock my door while I'm home.
I never carry a purse or a wallet, I carry any cash, drivers license n cards in a very small fanny pack bof enough to hold a cell phone, I do not go shopping with ANYTHING that isn't needed, I wear baggy shirts n wear the pack to my left side, never been robbed but there is a first time for everthing.
OMG…I live in Allen which is close to McKinney! I will still watch what I do. I always hold my purse never open my car until everything is in the trunk….and constantly look for people around me! Hubby and son in law enforcement so maybe that's why I'm so observant!

I will definitely keep my head on a swivel, because nowadays you just have to criminals that are out there nowadays. However it's my personal opinion we ought to go back to the good old bad days and you like they used to do for thieves AKA cut off their hands. Now I know a lot of people would probably disagree with me and say that's an awful extreme way of dealing with something like that, however I think it would be a strong deterrent to thieves to see that say on national TV later at night of course only the adults saw it, I believe it would stop a lot of people from robbing or stealing from people because they would see that on the TV especially if it was national TV and go nope don't want to do that don't want to risk that. I personally believe the risk is too high people are not going to want to do it am I wrong for thinking this way?
They used to have and I don't know if they still do I think it's a grab and go it's like a fanny pack that's a made out of mesh material that fits around your waist underneath your blouse that hose big enough to hold it stretches like to hold a phone and a small wallet and stuff

They should make fake guns in holsters that guys can carry on there hip. It would be like fake camera's. If everybody had them, you would not know who is really carrying a gun and who is not. I think there would be less of this kind of thing going on.
My reply would be of course there is….its. 2011 old and it would not surprise me …but hey I get awesome gas mileage 😁 I wouldn't even look joke is on them haha! I also carry a flashlight and tazer both in one!☺

Why in the world do you carry a purse to the store anyway? Put stuff in your pockets. Leave your cell at home. There's no need for all that just for a simple store run.
I switched over to a purse 👛 that I can wear as a crossbody. I don't take it off till I'm in the car and it's locked. I only open one door at a time. If I'm loading then all the others are closed. I'm about to buy a defense key chain that has several different items on it for self defense like pepper spray. Y'all be careful out there.

Something I do in areas that have cart return spots. I park with the drives door next to the cart return. The bars make it more difficult to get right beside your vehicle and mess with you or your belongings.
