Flat out | Allotments For Fun and Food

I really didn’t plan to work on the plot today but the weather was unusually warm and dry so it would have been a shame not to have taken advantage of it. In the end I was flat out creating a paved area above the compost bins. The path that is there currently is less than even so a fair amount of time was spent getting things as level as I could. This is never ideal on open ground and really needs sand and cement but I steer away from those permanent solutions. All the materials at hand so onward. There is plenty to do on the plot but its more construction today.Things don’t work out perfectly with the path not being three full pavers wide…..

UK Allotments are the ideal place to learn how to grow fruit and vegetables. My allotment is a no dig allotment and I share how to grow vegetables and how to prepare a no dig garden. If you are growing in a backyard garden or homestead and you want some tips on how to grow vegetables I hope my channel has something to offer. Allotment ideas are always worth sharing and I am happy to share my gardening ideas and failures so that we can all learn to grow vegetables together. I also learn on the allotment nearly every time I am there and learning how to grow in a Polytunnel or greenhouse can be a fun an exciting experience too. If you are one of the many allotment beginners or thousands of people growing in your garden for the first time then join me growing on Allotments For Fun and food and get some allotment ideas

  4. Howdy Malc! 👋 You certainly made great use of that beautiful day. The pathway is looking good!👍 In the future you might be pleasantly happy you made that pathway wider…the wider width is going to come in handy for sure. 😃

  5. Great job Malcolm when you finish digging the edge have a look at the paver step adjacent is that a big empty space under half the step down paver from above the compost area? Might need to fix so doesnt give when walking on.

  6. Loving the path malc. Maybe if you have the half ones left over you can stand on their edge. To help prevent the soil break down from above.

I just love your motivation you always do something a little different to what I have to do I have a 4 inch pipe in my garden and I have to keep stepping over it so I'm going move some soil from under a raised bed and level it out just grade it off, you just give me that idea from the way you dig away that soil, love your vlogs.
