One of the biggest challenges I have dealt with in setting up our farm is finding sources for everything that I need. And, other people must struggle with this too, because its one of the most common questions I get over on my instagram account – https://www.instagram.com/you.cant.eat.the.grass/
So, here is the list! And if there is anything else, ask in the comments. (Amazon links are affiliate links)

  1. Thank you for this helpful episode! I’m changing my small grass front yard in Vermont into a raised-bed flower farm. (Will be called Keep Smilin’ Flower Stand) Started with cardboard and now covered with wood chips. Earthworms are prolific!
Volunteer pumpkin crop (erupted from donated pile of leaves) helped me tell others of my future flowers. Gave away the pumpkins (of all sizes) helped me spread the word!!! Loads of future clients already. Especially neighborhood kids!
Carolyn/Vermont Cat Lady (originally from San Diego, California)

  2. Thanks so much, Serina, for showing and telling us about where you got all the stuff we ask you about, and for providing links and suggestions! Great job! Love the drone footage, Ian!

  3. This was super helpful. I’m not a flower farmer but I do like to grow a cut flower garden and so much of what you shared I can adopt in a much smaller form. Thank you so much!!

  4. At the end, was that a purring cat? For a second I thought Ian fell asleep and was snoring….😂😂😂

  5. Thank you so much Serina and Ian for the wonderful information, I really love your channel! You guys are a so hard working couple, creative, fun and funny. I really don’t know how you can do everything that you do… the farm, markets, making videos, house work and having kids!. I have a question about what exact brand and model if posible are your cordless drill and bulb auger? I have seen one that you use with a handle to the side, It looks pretty handy when you were putting the plugs in the ground.

  6. Super info Serena, thanks! Would love to have a video covering of your favourite gardening/farming books and knowledge resources (such as other YouTube channels or websites), etc. Where do you do when you want inspiration or information on specific plants/flowers or gardening/farming techniques. I know you have a list but it would be interesting to hear your opinions on each as I've found that great books/resources for one thing are not so great for another, and so on.

  7. You need to be highlighted on Duluth's website – they always highlight hard working people, especially women who wear their clothes while doing what they love. You'd be perfect!

  8. Great video!❤ Is the Earthway seeder worth the investment? It’s the only affordable seeder I can get in my country, but if it’s a pain to work with I don’t want it.😄

  9. What happened to that seedling planter “gun”?
You had hoped it would be a big help.
I didn’t look at all the comments, apologies if you answered this already.

  10. Y'all are so awesome. I've loooovoed finding this channel and making my way through your videos. Thank y'all so much for all you do and Happy Thanksgiving to your adorable family. Love from Texas!

  11. after watching you guys for a while..your presentation at the farmers market..everything just pops..its always beautiful

  12. Have you thought of using an auger powered by a drill for planting? There are many different companies and options even where you can use them standing up.Think Power Planter is a company in the US not sure about others

  13. Thanks again for sharing Serina! You are such a kind, unselfish and very funny human. All the info is very helpful! Thanks again for sharing your research! 💯 ❣️ Happy Holidays to you, Ian and kids.

  14. For regular folks who are not trying to grow at scale and you're just needing 10 or 20 small pots to bump up your seedlings. Check with your local garden centers that are not big Box. Many of them have recycled programs where you can drop off your pots, and whoever needs them can take whatever they want.
I know you say you like those tiny cell trays, but I wonder if you have tried soil blocking? It was a total game changer. You can Grow a lot more in a smaller area. I fit 80 seedlings in Of 4" by 8 container. I will never go back to growing anything in little cell trays. Might be worth it for you to check it out if you haven't already considered it.
