  1. Hi Emma good job feeding the 🐦 🦜 but just in case they don't get through all of yr pumpkins n the one "melted" its full of nutrients for yr allotment just break them up n dig them about 20, 30 cm in the vegie beds. "Free" fertiliser for next season crop. I learned that from my parents in Portugal. They did take the seeds out I think πŸ€” . B healthy n happy xx

  2. Yes, that Budlia plans does well from being cut back hard. πŸ€—

  3. They look lovely, but it's advised on wildlife sites to put them out of the way if hedgehogs, gives them tummy troubles and they die of dehydration.

  4. Hi Emma so lovely to see you again, always a pleasure….truly 😊 good idea putting the bird feed in your hanging baskets, maybe the rats won't get at it…and what the birds flick out will stay in the hanging baskets and not land on the ground. All the very best dear Emma πŸ‚πŸπŸ‚πŸπŸ’•

  5. I am also pretty sure you have a patch of forget me knots, they don’t fully die back. I find the quickest way to smarten up a garden is to cut the lawn and trim its edges. Still cutting our grass in Nov in Essex. If wet give it quick a brush with a stiff bristle brush before cutting. The Budlia you can virtually cut down to ground level and it will come back looking great next year. As others have said be careful what you feed hedgehogs.

  6. Hi Emma watching you cutting Budlia down , what you need to do is cut down to about a foot from the ground each year to gain fresh new shoots

  7. Hi Emma just thought as you said it was hard to split your time between garden and allotment, do you think you might try a few veg in your new cleared spot?, with maybe some flowers around the edge to encourage pollinators. It could show people even in a small space like your courtyard,it can produce food. Good luck with next years design and hope the book is soon out to purchase. Look forward to seeing your next video.

  8. Cut that buddleja down to within a couple of foot of the ground or more. Can't kill the bloody things

  9. Emma! Gardens ate works in progress. Never perfect. never done, always more you can or should do! always more things you want to try.

  10. Hi Emma hope your well. You know there are things you can do with stinging nettles, you can make tea for all your plants ( place them in a container that seals well and fill with water. Let it stand for a month or so. Mind it stinks something awful, but it's the best, natural nitrogen fixer for plants-you do howerever have to dilute it. Here in Greece we make pies with them, tasty and nutritious. By the way, if you don't remove all their roots they'll just keep coming back. Great video as usual, thanks.

  11. Nettles are fabulous for a healthy eco system. I always keep a small patch of them somewhere as they attract bugs which are eaten by other larger bugs, who are THEN eaten by birds. Nettles are a must….in moderation.πŸŒ»πŸπŸβ€οΈπŸβ€οΈπŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸŒΈπŸŒΈπŸŒΈ

  12. I always feel like heading out into the garden after one of your videos Emma. Keep being you , you are doing a great job.😊🌻

  13. Hi Emma with the budlia you can cut it all right back even the top part of it and it’ll come back next year, don’t worry about giving it a really good prune. x

  14. Totally get the nettle fight! I console myself with the idea that they grow really well in fertile soilπŸ˜‰
