I’ve pieced together clues for this speculation video about an expansion pack or game pack that could come to sims 4 as early as 2023. Here are my ideas for gameplay, build/buy, create a sim, world, and even pack integration with sims 4 packs like high schools years and wedding stories. Do you think the team will go with a kpop theme? What kind of groups would you expect?

I'm torn. I would be greatly disappointed in any "bands" pack that stuck to only one genre (whether it was K-pop, country, rock, or whatever). I would want it to be a general pack covering many musical genres.
The problem is, it would take a LOT of time, money, and resources to record many different songs representing several genres, so I'm not sure how do-able that would be. Imagine, if they only recorded one or two songs from each genre, how tired we would get of hearing our bands play the same two songs over and over.
I'm just not sure how they could do a bands pack in a way that wasn't totally shallow. 🤔
I absolutely love BTS and I would really like there to be a Kpop pack for the Sims. But I can understand how it would not appeal to everyone. So therefore I think a bands pack with a Kpop section and other genres included would work better so it's more inclusive for everyone
I thought I bought fame with bands with get famous. I don't want to pay again.
I think it would make sense to make it so they have traditional bands (perhaps allowing you to choose your genre) and idol groups (hopefully allowing you to choose between genre as well even though pop tends to be the popular genre in that category). As someone who just turned Magnolia Promenade into a Korean-themed neighborhood, I would love a Korean themed world and it would make a lot of sense for idol groups.
for the concert venue, if they use normal sims its gonna be super hard to handle (as like u said, we saw with my wedding stories) a fix for that could be to use low poly placeholder sims, that you cannot interact or do anything with them, they're just objects that do a simple, low fps animation to make the concert venue feel populated
I would want drums and child size guitars. I would also love to see something they missed with acting pack and others
I want to be able to record and review my sims performances and weddings and others events
You're probably sick of it by now, because I say this EVERY time the subject of bands comes up. I want ROCK bands back. When Sims 4 came out almost 9 years ago, the three things I wanted most out of it were: horses, fairies and rock bands. 9 years later… crickets.
Ok. I know horses will never happen. The sims team NEVER gives us enough new animations per pack anymore to cover horses. They just won't do it. But fairies are still a possibility. My hopes are fading for rock bands as well. The sims team has tunnel vision for music. It's all pop all the time. How many pop radio stations are we up to now? 6? 8? I've lost count. But not ONE rock station. (Sure you could count metal & alternative, but that's not specifically ROCK.) 9 years into Sims 4, I believe the only actual rock we have in the game is a handful of songs you can play on guitar, and karaoke. That's IT.

The thing is, if the pack is centered on K-Pop, even if there are items and actions that can be used for general bands, gigs, etc, the music they perform will still be POP. Ugh.
And more and more it's looking like that's exactly what will happen if they release a bands pack. Will they even add drums & bass to guitars & keyboards? Or will it all just be vocal/dance productions? I'm thinking the latter. We already have the animations in the game to allow that from Get Together group dancing. They'll go mostly with the existing animations, I'd be willing to bet.
Now, as to how bands could work, Sims 3 had the perfect solution. Small club performances for gigs where you actually get to play a band member, but the large concerts were rabbit holes in stadiums. However that would NOT work for K-Pop which pretty much demands a large venue. Small lounge type performances would have to be rock or country, or other genres that work in closer environments. Unless Summer Sessions was really a trial run for pop bands with small stages that pop up like festivals from time to time. I can see that happening.
So, I dunno what's worse. No hope for bands? Or actually getting bands and having them be the polar opposite of the type of bands I want.
It's likely, after wanting it for so long, I wouldn't even buy it. So dissappointing.
I have nothing against pop, or people who like it. I'll be happy for them if that's what happens. But for myself…

We really need more City Worlds / apartments in The Sims 4! City living is 6 years old…
I so want a bands pack but I really hope its not k-pop. Nothing to do with race but I think it's corny and not cool- preppy mainstream and cheese to the max, only from another country. I wouldn't mind another asian type world, but I would hope they would put out a Spanish with npc that look Latin American. They have yet to be represented in the game and we have asian already and two asian world Snowy escape and City Living.
I don't think it's a question of if we get a bands pack? But, how and when?
I could also see a Brazilian band pack. Or Sims team doing a J-pop , K-pop blend making it not only about the sounds of J-Pop & K-Pop. But, the Style as well. With a more Korean themed world. Sadly, I don't see food getting a big focus with this pack. No matter, what we get with Sims 4 band pack.
As long as the AI works, the bugs are few , And the pack is well thought out. Am sure, we're have something fun to look forward to.
I feel like bands should come as a refresh for get famous
A Korean world would be awesome, and if they want to frame bands in a K-pop theme, sure, as long as it doesn't limit musical genre. Just give me bands already. Small venues being playable and BIG venues being rabbitholes are also fine by me.
A K-pop Pack and a Korean city would be great, I don't see it as a limitation since there are other styles of music already available in the game. The game offers you to create a "restaurant", then you decide the "type of food". However, as you say, if the sims can't behave properly at a wedding, they won't do so at a concert.
I hope they never add k-pop, because I don't want the toxic k-pop fans to flood into the sims fandom, however, other genres of music and a band pack would be amazing.
Seeing K Pop is immensely popular and it is not going anywhere soon, I foresee this as a theme for a band pack. Though they could limit to the K Pop realm despite there are many subgenres of K Pop. (So technically you can't really create a band of any genre)
You did mentioned the Sims sessions being a precursor to this band/music expansion pack before. Hopefully they learned something about Sims AI being all over the place when there is a lot of Sims in the same lot. They either just don't do what you told them to or just do not stay throughout the performance.
We already have San Myshuno which has a district that looks like an asian modern city, I prefer something new, more fresh, maybe Latin America, Greece or something mediterranean. Almost all the worlds looks like USA or England.
My biggest fear of getting a K-pop pack, rather than a more general bands pack, is that we still won't have a reason to use all that base game jazz artwork. 😂
I am a little bit worried, because K-pop groups are not bands. They don't play instruments, they sing and dance

I really loved this topic, as an kpop fan myself, i would honestly would love to see an kpop pack myself because i have huge of kpop dance cover groups girls households that would love to use all of the features like dancing, singing and so on. I'm okay with overall with the idea if they ever picked any of those famous groups like BTS, Twice and so on to do an collaboration because i'm happen to be Army, once, blink and so on and again, it would be pretty interesting to see korean city world with its famous cultures of it. But, if we exactly did not get any of the kpop EP/Stuff packs, an simlish kpop inspired pack would be nice to see.

Was there a band pack in previous Sims franchises? How did that work? I'd be super excited to get a world based on a Korean city, so much so that I'd be willing to be disappointed in other areas.VERY excited to have a new urban world! I don't have a particular yen for Kpop and don't know much about it, but I appreciate the opportunity to learn new things in the Sims. I'm SO tired of North American worlds (I'm from the US- so bored!). I'm hoping for an EP because I want the world really fleshed out- not pone of these 7 lot wonders. I really think to do it justice they'd need an EP. I'm uncertain how the new game play would look in such a pack. When I think of bands I think of playing in bars and local small venues, not stadiums. There's a lot of music that's at that level. So keeping it smaller scale could work.
As someone who likes kpop I don't want it in game simply because we will never hear the end of people hating on it lmao, but also I recently throught that a band pack would make the most sense right now, all the big ones are done already and the amount of instruments in ts4 is so lacking..
but tbh if it was an expansion, they could fit both the possibility of bands and girlboy groups (not necessarily only kpop ones) but also add a bunch of kpop inspired fashion so yeah
I’d find it puzzling if they have a bands pack that didn’t at least have Rock as a type of music you can perform. I don’t even listen to that type of music much, but to me with any game about bands I automatically think Rock music.
We need a new city world so I’m up for a modern Korean city. I really want a band pack I have high school without bands. Make it make sense. 😂
Idk. I just think bands should be apart of a Get Famous pack refresh. I don't wanna pay for a pack where you get to be a famous musician but then have to pay for a seperate pack just to do it with bands??

K-pop? Don't you mean S-pop, and bands based on K-pop wouldn't be great for a pack cause we probably wouldn't get any more instruments, just some kind of DJ add on or an electronic background music machine, since K-pop bands usually sing and dance.
You can already have 8 sims dance with the pose player mod, so it wouldn't really be hard to make a show with a bunch of sims performing.

i'd say i'm neutral about kpop but i dont know anything about it, never heard the music, dont know any of the bands, a while ago i thought kpop was just the radio station in the sims i never listen to because well, not my thing

I wish we could get some new instruments like a trumpet or a cello. I am not interested in K-pop
I know it's a popular demand but I couldn't care less about a band pack, I do want more instruments though, but if sims 3 taught me anything about band is that I don't like the band gameplay. If the band pack came with a K-pop theme at least it will be more interesting than a general band one for me, for one it would be unique to the Sims 4, the theme is strong enough when thinking about the relationship between the labels, groups (how they train, are constituted, marketed) and their fans (though I doubt we would have mechanics in game related to the more extreme relationships between those three instances), it would be good to focus on a non American culture too (and even if I love my rock bands and jazz men at least a K-pop theme would allow for a change which aren't those two like in the Sims 3), just as you pointed the fashion, the food, the architecture, maybe some social norms. I think that basically I just want anything that's not an all American experience in a forresty-kinda world, we've had more than enough of those and everything that's remotely not that is more than welcome, and better welcome, than the American "general" experience a theme could provide, I like the restrictiveness coming from world's like Selvadorada, Sulani or Mt Komorebi and I want more of that cultural exclusiveness (I've been wanting a Malian inspired pack for forever, thought it probably won't ever come out, and more generally I want something gearing towards Chinese and Indian culture for real and not just the Chinese/indian-american version of it sprinkled here and there, I want more Arabic themed things too and if it comes at the cost of restrictiveness it's more than welcome in my book rather than being there on a surface level)

I don’t think they would go that specific. How can they market the game as “customizable” and just solely focus on K-pop. Plus, with so many Pop genres in game, don’t we have that already anyway?
I would love to see some good old Rock, for instance. And even other genres that I don’t care for but are lacking in game (like Rap).
Grunge was a great missed opportunity with Werewolves, for example. The game is lacking in Rock/metal/gothic CAS items, specially with teens in mind.
I think they can definitely add a non-American world for a change, specially a city would and they can even promote with the K-Pop as the focus, as long they add options to have all the rest. Drums would be amazing, maybe some woodwind instruments,etc. Maybe even a xilofone for toddlers.
As for the concerts, the festivals last summer worked pretty nice. Even a rabbit hole for some top tear artists I wouldn’t mind, as long we can have more intimate playable concerts/events from both perspectives.
Would be nice if in the new world the stages would be off-lot, so then when you're casually doing other things you stumble upon a show or an event. Don't know if it would get alot of sims in the same place tho. Maybe there could still be a bigger concert lot type…
I have been waiting for a kpop pack for so so long. I think even people who aren't interested in kpop would enjoy it, because the option to debut a musician or a group(you could be inspired by Destiny's Child or Backstreet Boys instead of kpop in your own gameplay). The rich culture of Korea would make for a lot of fun gameplay as well
I would love it if the Sims 4 could develop a way for Sims to play the same song together, with different instruments, like real bands do. I would also love the ability of Sims to sing together, and to harmonize when they sing with each other. They have so many music styles in the game, but very few instruments for Sims to play. There is such a wide variety of musical instruments that simply aren't in this game. I think these things would enhance gameplay.
I'm not sure how I would feel about a focus on k-pop, but you know I want a bands pack. I hope its focused on music careers in general and not a specific type of music. Being set there would be interesting though lol
Doubt it. We already have the Korean kit, don't think we'll get more Korean clothes.
They could do like Sims 3 showtime where you see some sims watching but the rest that fill out the area are 2D animation of people just waving their hands or phones
I will admit I have no interest in KPop so if that all the pack is I wouldn't concern myself. However as I've stated previously if they have different instruments where I can creat different types of bands then I'd be willing to shell out the cash.
Not a fan of kpop, but I've been waiting for a band pack for a long time. I'd also like to see another culture represented before we get yet another Asian city. I also understand that there is no monolith Asian culture and everyone deserves representation. It be nice if EA didn't seem to decided what country/culture to represent based off profitability. Still waiting for African culture/country/city. It's ridiculous to me that EA continues to ignore such a huge continent with so much potential. Music should be a global thing it's to niche to do just kpop. This would be a ideal time to do a global pack and focus on different music from all over the world. I know this is only speculation but if they do a music pack with a heavy focus on kpop I will not be buying it. I don't mind if there is some kpop them, but I don't want the whole pack to center around it.

I NEED BANDS that work. I have the K-pop mod but I haven't been able to get a band constructed yet so I'm hoping that a pack will be more cohesive and constructed and it could be my ADHD that's getting in the way LOL

My only problem with this, if they do this, is that they seem to keep redoing certain themes, and while that's cool and all, I'd like to see more
differentsorts of styles – and not just culturally but in decor and such.It'd be cool if you could get your audience to be more of specific supernaturals.
There's a poster in werewolves that claims theres movies with werewolves in them, so I don't see why there'd be no wolf music.
