Turn Kitchen Scraps into FOOD #shorts #gardening #savemoney

How would you like to have an endless supply of food? How would you like to lower or eliminate your grocery bill? Why not start a garden. You don’t really need a bunch of space. It can be started indoors or grow hydroponically.

In addition, many of your plants can be regrown from scraps. This cabbage root was regrown by cutting of the root, and placing a small amount of water in a container. You want to make sure not to soak it, as it can cause root rot. As smaller roots begin to develop change out the water every 2-3 days. In about two weeks you will develop a healthy root system and will see new leaves forming on the top of the plant.

Mix up a batch of organic rich soil by adding dried leaves and organic matter to your soil mix. Be sure to add drainage rocks to allow for oxygen and proper drainage so that mold does not grow in your soil. Remember the roots need soil water and oxygen. If your soil is too compact it will create a hypoxic growing environment and your cabbage will die.

Once you have planted your regrown cabbage make sure to place in a south facing window and water regularly. Then watch your new baby grow.
