Kyoto's Most UNIQUE Restaurant (and Nishiki Market!)

Kyoto, finally!! In this Japan vlog, we visit Nijo Castle, the Imperial Palace, eat at a super unique (HOT) restaurant, and visit the famous Nishiki Market (where we continue eating things that we don’t know what they are)!

In case you like skipping around:
00:00 Nijo-Jo
03:06 Menbaka Ramen
05:00 Imperial Palace
09:09 Nishiki Market

Nijo-Jo Castle was filled with beautifully painted wooden screens, but you’ll have to take our word for it. It was also filled with students! So many students! After spending some time enjoying the Castle’s gardens, we headed for a fire ramen restaurant we found on Google. How is this even safe?! Afterwards, we’re left wondering whether we still have eyebrows and head to the Imperial Palace. Somehow we’ve left the students behind and enjoy Kyoto’s Imperial Palace with almost no people! Afterwards, we head to Nishiki Market and are there just in time to try a bunch of things we don’t recognize, and a couple of things we do.

  2. Hi😊 Welcome to Japan🥰 Thank you for sharing beautiful& fun video ❤ Please consider moving to Japan🤣🤣💝💝 How many days were you in Japan??

  3. I really enjoyed Breizh Cafe,… I went back twice,… it's just off the Philosopher's Path and has the greatest buckwheat crepes. Near here is a path up the hill to graves of Joseph Hardy Neesima and his wife Yaeko,… I think you won't find foreign tourists here … and yet, this place is utter Japanese trying to bring Western culture and science into the country.

  4. Fortunately Kyoto wasnt bombed in 1945. Before choosing Kyoto an American Military opposed it and said this ist the japanese Rome.

  5. The Kyoto Imperial Palace is still in use today, so security is very strict.
Therefore, there are many places where you can not see the inside.

There was a blue police car at the entrance, right?
That's part of the Imperial Police, the police organization.
A police organization that protects the emperor, empress, and members of the imperial family, and guards the Imperial Palace, Imperial Palace, and Imperial Villas.

The fee is free because it is under the jurisdiction of the Imperial Household Agency and the Japanese imperial family cannot own private property.

Before WW2, the enthronement ceremony was held in Kyoto.
After the war, the law changed and it became possible to do it in Tokyo, and recently it is being held in Tokyo.

    Sorry if you know.😀

  6. I enjoyed your travel videos! What is the month you visited Kyoto with all those school kids? We were there in May a few years ago, and same, school kids everywhere! They were well behaved and mostly quiet inside. 🙂

  8. Did you enjoy Japan?
By the way, interesting ramen store, was it good?
I have never heard of this restaurant except for this one on YouTube.
Is there another one? Why haven't I heard of any other restaurants? 1,350 yen, huh?

  11. You asked about a very unique tree in Nijo Castle. So I did some research on the internet. This is probably a specially grown cedar tree. Several trunks are grown from one cedar tree. When the trunk grows enough, it is cut and the next trunk is grown. In that way, we can get a lot of wood from one cedar tree. This cedar tree is called Daisugi, and if you search on google etc., you can find a picture of a huge Daisugi.
