How We Compost Using Worm Farms & Tumblers 🪱🪴 Harvesting Compost From Pet Waste and Food Scraps

There are so many ways to compost in the garden… I like to keep it simple and easy and let nature do her thing and help out the process. Less work and more compost is what I prefer and that’s why I love using compost tumblers and worm farms! In today’s video I share how to harvest compost from a worm farm and compost tumbler. Hope you enjoy!

Hey there!

Welcome to my channel, The Nature Patch where I like to share all things gardening, cooking, environmental science and flower farming in my Australian bushland backyard in south coast NSW.

My name is Robyn, an environmental scientist working towards completing a PhD in understanding how people’s wellbeing and their connection to nature is impacted by land use change. I’ve always loved gardening and nature and lately have been interested in growing my own organic food!

On this channel you’ll find videos relating to garden tours, ‘how to’ videos, composting, soil health, ecosystem services, and seed saving.

I try to upload twice a week and I hope you enjoy!!

  1. Fantastic video! ❤️ Thank you for sharing, I did not realise just how many composts/worm farms you have!!! I may be a crazy chicken lady, but you my friend are a crazy worm lady and I love it!

I'll make you a deal you set me up a worm farm I'll set you up a chicken coop 😜🤣

  2. I love seeing how others compost. We all have different set ups and households that it’s great to see other systems. I am hoping to add a worm farm to my system soon

  3. you dont worry about taking the worms with the compost to the garden? i have been making sure that they go back to the bottom tray and it takes hours in the sun for them to go down…

  4. Have you the thoroughly researched potential parasites in cat faeces – toxoplasmosis and its problems including birth defects? Just be sure you're aware of what your dealing with, be safe 🙂

  5. Hi Ya Robyn my tomatoes have all grown from the compost bin which I am harvesting at the moment. I was hot composting before, not doing much currently but hopefully I will take care🪱♻️🥦
