We love to re-use things and here in the greenhouse we have re-used old windows and floorboards; old freezer shelves and kitchen worktops to extend our sowing and growing area. If you ask local builders and craftsmen they will often be happy to just give you stuff that they will have to pay to get rid of!! We are thrilled to have an extended greenhouse and to know that we have prevented good stuff going to waste.

I just collected a dismantled polycarbonate greenhouse that was being thrown out! Will make a cold frame or something out of it. Good to see this mindset! X

I’ve been wondering about the greenhouse renovation after the poly tunnel blew down. I’m glad to see it is going 👍😺you must be so relieved to know it came to this point. Wonderful to repurpose the floor boards. I like the grid idea for excess compost to flow thru save is a good thing.everything looks great. If you can find 2 bicycle wheels thrown out perhaps someone can make you a rolling cart to go to beach with or haul things in.

Thank you for the lovely visit to the seaside. I grew up near the ocean but live 3 hours inland now and miss it. Enjoyed seeing you pick up trash – my Dad and I did that on our beach walks too. And yes sometimes there are treasure!
Your bigger greenhouse is wonderful. My husband built me a greenhouse several years ago and it changed my life. I was just out there watering swisschard and herbs that grow almost year round in there. I also love to sit in it on sunny winters days out of the wind and cold.

How excited you both must be as your new extended and remodeled greenhouse is prepared for Spring! I have to hand it to Lol how his fingers can play so much BEAUTIFUL music, they also are very, very skilled at building. I love upcycling, I hardly ever go to buy anything new. My favourite shop is the recycle shop at the rubbish transfer station. You find all sorts in there as cheap as. Love your new greenhouse. =-)

For some reason, while I was watching the ocean and the seagulls, I got a craving for warm sourdough bread with some butter and a nice tall pint of Guinness! After a chilly day at the beach, I'd want to sit by the fireplace at a pub and chat with friends. 🍺🍻🍞❤🧡💛💚💙💜

The new extended greenhouse looks fantastic! BTW, the Meyer lemon I planted in the ground in my greenhouse in a similar climate to yours is thriving with abundant lemons even on the small trained tree in case you are keen👍
