    hi Taria, thank you so much for the recommendations. I love your videos but have always been scared to try out urban sketching because there are a bunch of architects in my family and I cannot draw a straight line to save my life. Albert Kiefer´s course sounds fantastic and I wouldnt have thought to look for it

    I’m a big fan of Domestika I’ve been taking courses there, I took the Tommy Kim course and I’m fascinated of his style, highly recommended 👌🏻and recently I took Timo Bechert course I think it’s called travel sketches in watercolor, highly recommended too 👌🏻

    Big fan of Domestika for the same reasons you are and love many of the same classes. You can find other big name urban sketchers on other platforms. I found Uma Kelkar doing a class on painting abstract still life on ETCHR, which was an absolute gem for learning values and composition while sketching loosely and not what she is known for. Skill share also has a number of urban sketchers. To me, the downside of many online courses is saying they are for beginners and endlessly going over the basics, which is a waste of everyone's time. Show me someone who has never used watercolors who can possibly produce the final project in most online courses, so let's skip how to make a wash or what paper to use. I do enjoy that Domestika always includes artist influences. The book Tommy Kim said was his bible is really old but a wealth of information on many drawing and composition basics.

    hi I have used tracing on my monitor to improve drawing faces and it helped a lot and really fast. I found an image i liked and made it the size I wanted on the screen, I then just made a little mark on my paper top and bottom to tell me how big to make the image this is important for later. I then draw the image myself and then when everything is plotted out (but not finalised yet) I then put the image on top of my screen (this is why i need it the correct size) so I can see where my mistakes are. I then know what to alter and I alter it.
    I noticed that I was commonly making my eyes slightly too low and the right eye would often be slightly slanted. I was able to work on this doing this tracing practice and doing my regular practice and within a short time I improved. Make sure you do the alterations too because it is important for you to get muscle memory of the correct lines and placements. I expect maybe even just flat out tracing over and over could help train your brain to learn the correct proportions and learn muscle memory.

    How do any of the videos on domestika differ from Good YouTube art videos? I don't know anyone who has ever paid to watch a video on any platform. They all find good YouTube teachers and learn what they need. What do these videos offer that justify a price tag?
