Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!
Some people just aren’t suited to playing the part of the flashy, in-your-face hero or the dastardly, mustache-twirling villain with larger-than-life panache. Instead, they operate in the shadows and pull the strings of society through wit and cleverness. That’s the role Cid wants to play when he’s transported to another world. Cid spins a yarn or three and becomes the unlikely leader of the underground Shadow Garden organization that fights against a menacing cult (which he totally made up). However, there’s a catch even his wild imagination didn’t see coming: the cult he concocted actually exists, and they’re beyond displeased that his power fantasy just got in the way of their evil plans!

  1. I feel like Sherry will think that Shadow was the one who killed both parents, since both will have the same rather specific wounds. Plus, I also think it would be very bad for her psyche if she found out that her "father", the one who cared for her for multiple years, was the one who murdered her mother and only took her in to exploit her for this research. She would probably have trust issues for her entire life if this came to light and pinning both murders on Shadow, a mysterious figure that nobody really knows anything about, gives her a villain and a purpose/goal in life

  2. well personally i think letting her know that her stepfather who raised her was the killer of her mother is going to be hard, at least now she has motivation to live even though it means she will hates her own friend.

  3. Iirc in the LN Sadow said that "You're better off not knowing" line out loud when Shery asked him "why?". I'm pretty sure his reason for saying it was that it sounded cool and mysterious.

  4. I just want to say I really appreciate your reactions. You're really smart and your insights and commentary are always spot on. It's satisfying when you manage to get the subtler details, unlike many other reactors miss or misunderstand which often can get quite annoying.

  5. 100% sure Cid saying "You're better off not knowing" because it sounded cool and it was on his bucket list lmfao.

People need to realize how unhinged Cid is, he's a lunatic.

  6. I feel so terrible for sherry she had to witness her despicable father die before her eyes and her father killed her mother in cold blood. I hope the rest of her story arc is a bit more peaceful to her. I'd hate to see her be consumed by vengeance

  7. Better to pin the blame on a mysterious criminal of an organization that she doesn't know, than the person she thought of as a father figure all her life. So many people say he should have told her, but 1. She wouldn't necessarily believe the words of a random stranger who literally killed her dad in front of her. Are you telling me if a guy came and murdered your family in front of you, and then said your family was bad and needed to die, would you believe him? Or think of him as anything less than a murderer? She wouldn't have trusted or liked Shadow regardless. 2. She already had a traumatic past of seeing her mother die, and then a father figure die, both in front of her. Her mental psyche wouldn't be able to then handle that her father figure never cared for her and was just using her, and had killed her mother. At least this gives her a motive to continue on with life, even if that motive is revenge. She may still discover the truth later in life, when she's more mentally stable enough to handle the truth. Her right now could not handle it, thus as Cid said, it's better that way. Cid doesn't care to be seen as a hero either like he said, and just wants to live out his delusions anyway, so if it helps Sherry out too, all the better to be seen as a villain in her eyes.

  8. I hope we get enough episodes to watch Sherry's story play out, this could be the start of a beautiful villain arc
